Looking for a fun and modern twist on the traditional wedding palette? This bold and bright wedding tablescape incorporates on-trend cobalt blue with deep pink, off set with touches of lime green and sunny orange. We’ve accented with crisp white and metallic gold; and our floral balloon cluster garland makes this tablescape really pop! Handmade touches such as stained wood placemats with handlettered calligraphy, and stemware and cutlery with brightly painted accents give this look an artistic flair that will dazzle your guests!
Selecting a Color Palette This deep blue is such a rich and sumptuous color, and very on-trend for weddings. It off sets perfectly with small pops of hot pink. The Bloom Dinner Plates provided the inspiration for the addition of lime green and orange. To tone down all the brights, we used this White Aisle Runner with Gold Dots in an unexpected way; as a table runner! To get this look, we started with a base layer of Navy Tablecloth Roll, (bonus, it will protect the table from accidental spills), then topped it with two shimmery layers of Navy Blue Organza. We cut two layers of the aisle runner to the fit the length of the table, plus a drop of about three feet on each end, and then sprinkled the top with Metallic Gold Confetti.
Creating a Focal Point Balloons are the classic way to say "let's party", and this peppy balloon garland is no exception. We created an extra-long balloon cluster garland using four colors from our palette, and then stuffed it to overflowing with fresh, vibrant blooms of white dahlia, hot pink carnation, and stunning hybrid pink and orange snapdragons. We added lots of greenery as filler, as well. The stunning and totally unique table runner extends to the floor on both sides of the table, and smells as heavenly as it looks. Making this balloon garland was simple, and surprise, VERY inexpensive! You can make it by following my simple instructions, provided here!
Bright, Pretty Tableware I absolutely love these Bloom dinner plates; their abstract floral pattern was the perfect accent for this fun look. Rather than going with a fully coordinated ensemble, I selected a fun polka dot dessert plate, which provided great contrast in both color and pattern. Royal blue cutlery, wood placemats, and real wine glasses top off the look perfectly.
Hand Painted Accents To add an extra punch of pink color, I added removable spray paint to the cutlery and wine glasses. I love how this design element brings out the vibrant colors in the plates and flowers. Best of all, the paint on the wine glasses can be removed! The tutorial on how to create these fantastic pieces are found here.
Unique Details I thought about using traditional chargers under the table settings, but wanted something a bit different. With the popularity of wood signs in home decor and weddings today, I opted to create something totally unique. By adding wood stain and hand lettered calligraphy to DIY Wood Slat Signs, these original wood placemats were created. The lettering is simple to do using just a chalk marker! For complete step by step instructions, I've created this tutorial.
