Sometimes it can be helpful to write out your ideas and plans first. We have a variety of cute journals that would work perfect for wedding planning. Check out our tips for making a personalized and detailed wedding website below!

Three REAL reasons why a wedding website is a great idea:

1. Communicate easily to guests easily about the important stuff: registry, hotel and transportation, specific dress code, etc.

3. Make the event more personal: share engagement and family photos, funny and thoughtful blurbs about bridal party, lists of wedding guests and more. Engagement photos are the essence of any wedding website and are used for many things during wedding preparation which is why we have some Tips On Hiring A Wedding Photographer for you!

Wedding websites should go up by the time you send save-the-dates and should be updated until the big day. Include the basics:

  • Who
  • What
  • When (date, plus start and end time)
  • Where (directions, plus transportation and parking info, if available)
  • Registry link(s)

Add bonus information:

  • Hotel, restaurant, and sightseeing info for out-of-town guests
  • Hotel room block information
  • RSVP option (in addition to mail)
  • Bridal party bios (optional)
  • Engagement or proposal photos
  • Tips on attire (i.e. walking in heels might be hard to do on beach or no jackets required for men)
  • Information on other events like rehearsal dinner and morning-after brunch (post events to which only ALL guests are invited)
  • Random information guests may like to know (no cell phones allowed, dessert-only reception, etc.)
  • Comments section or email link for guests to submit song requests, well wishes or respond to questions
  • Widget that uploads all social media photos using your wedding hashtag (if you have one – c’mon, make one, it’ll be fun!)

There are an abundance of free wedding website templates available. Unless you want to, there is no need to buy a URL and design your own.

Get out your pen and start checking things off. You're breezing through these planning tasks, and your wedding is still seven months away! Up next? Dressing the Groom, shopping for bridal accessories and creating a rockstar wedding reception playlist.
