Using Pinterest to help plan your wedding can be a great tool that gets overwhelming, quick! Pinning like there’s no tomorrow can result in a chaotic wedding board full of unattainable ideas. The following tips will make Pinterest beneficial and not wasteful dilly-dallying or unrealistic to your bottom line.

5 Tips for Pinterest Wedding Planning Success:
1. Create separate boards for each wedding category. (i.e. wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, wedding favors, flowers, color palettes, cake design, etc.)
2. Change descriptions to describe what you like about the image for later reference.
3. Use secret boards rather than public boards to keep your favorite ideas private. These boards can be shared with chosen contributors but eliminates others from copying your ideas. This will become more important as you begin to narrow your choices and convert from joyously “just engaged“ to “holy moly, how are we going to afford all of this?”
4. Search non-wedding photographs for inspiration. Colors, themes, attitude, cultures, environments, shapes, etc. Finding outside sources of inspiration rather than other weddings to imitate will make your wedding unique and beautiful.
5. Create a “secret” final wedding board – perhaps it’s called “My Big Day” or something that inspires you to place your final decisions in this one special place. Once you decide on your colors, they go here. Found your dress? Boom baby! Move it to this special board. This will help you see progress as you plan. In the end, you will have one perfectly uncluttered board guiding you toward “I do!”
