Get Inspired! Wedding Decor To-Do List

Your wedding plans are in full swing, and before you know it you’ll be finalizing decisions about flowers and wedding decorations. But before you rush headlong into a world of candles and tulle, take some time to gather ideas and inspiration about what kind of wedding decorations you really want (and really work with your budget) so you won’t be pressured into making decorating decisions you’re not happy with. For budget help, print this free budget planning worksheet.

Before getting started, make sure you download and print this free wedding decoration checklist!

So where do you begin? Browse wedding blogs like it's your job, tear out pages from bridal magazines to add to your wedding binder, and create boards with ideas you find on good old Pinterest! As you’re browsing, keep a few things in mind:

  • Is there anything about the venue you need to change or cover up? Perhaps a wall you’d like to cover with a backdrop or an unsightly carpet you'd like to divert attention from? Will you need to bring in extra lighting? Would you like to put covers on less-than-attractive chairs?
  • Can you easily DIY to save money and create a unique look? Items such as table numbers, aisle decor, photo booths, favor containers, and programs are things you may be able to make yourself quite beautifully and affordably. We've got a checklist for that, click here.
  • Do the ideas you’re saving work with the wedding theme/style you’ve chosen?

Remember, you’ll need to brainstorm ideas for several different decor areas. You may not be using all of these elements (and that’s ok!), but if you are, it’s best to be prepared. Go through the list, do some research on the items you'll be using, and take some notes or save ideas to your Pinterest boards.
