Wedding Decor Organization and Storage Tips and Tricks

Wedding Decor Organization and Storage Tips and Tricks

Wedding organization does not have to be hard and having friends and family to help you decorate your wedding day venue does have its benefits. But when you want each and every detail of your wedding to be absolutely perfect, can you really trust your vision and big day to ol’ Uncle Henry?? (sorry Uncle Henry, love ya) Sure your friends and family only want to help and mean well, but this is the biggest day of your life. The day you are going to marry your best friend, your other half, your everything. So to be absolutely positive that your day goes off without a hitch, make things simple and be as visual and organized as possible. Show your helpers (and ol’ Uncle Henry) EXACTLY how you want things to be decorated without turning into a Bridezilla.

Wedding Organization favors in a clear storage bin

Step 1: Set up your decorations on a table or hang them in your home and take a photo of the set up. Here we have a small candy buffet centerpiece and a single table setting that we set up on our dining room table and took a quick photo with my phone. The photo doesn't need to be anything fancy just as long as you get the point across as far as item placement goes.

Step 2: Print the photos and washi tape them to plastic storage bins or bags. Put the items that are used in that particular photo in the tote so there is no question as to where something is. So for our small candy buffet centerpiece, place all of the candy, monogram stickers, ribbon, and candy scoops for one or multiple centerpieces in one bin. Our tablesetting bin includes completed and filled favor boxes and candy sticks. For breakable items such as glass vases and jars, keep the jars in the packaging and put enough for one or two tables in a clear storage bag. Be sure to also include the photo of your fancy set up taped on the bag.

You can even go as far as to assigning table numbers to the totes to make things run smoothly and efficiently. Pre-making as many of the favors and decorations as possible makes things go even quicker!

Now you don't have to run around like a chicken with its head cut off telling people what to do or re-doing all the decorations yourself after everyone leaves. Your friends and family will also love that you did not turn into a Bridezilla because the treat boxes were not EXACTLY centered on the napkin.

Even if your friends and family are not interior designers, now they can certainly style like one.
