Each year I love to create a bulletin board that is above my students’ lockers welcoming them into our classroom. I plan the decorations around the theme or color scheme I am using in my room. This is a bulletin board that I won’t change during the school year, because let’s be honest…it’s extremely high up and it’s too hard to change!
The Chalkboard Safari Animal Bulletin Board Set is perfect to fill up this huge bulletin board! It includes the adorable leaf border that I used on the corners to create a frame. I decided to go with the purple color to help contrast against the black and other bright colors. I was worried that if I used black it might not "pop" as much as I wanted.
I love that the Chalkboard Safari Classroom Decor has a kid feeling, yet includes chalkboard and bright colors! My pictures do not do this set justice. Even though I tried different angles, standing on a ladder, and turning off the lights to take pictures without glares, it was impossible to get good pictures. I even sought out my custodian for help, but that also didn't work!
Make It Your Own!
You can follow our method exactly or mix it up with these creative alternatives!

Get Students Involved!
- Take pictures of students with these adorable safari visors, sunglasses or safari hats. Add the pictures to the bulletin board.
- Have students create magic color scratch safari ornaments to add to the bulletin board.
