Let the squirt guns spray and water balloons soar! It's time to get wet and play, it's a water war! Prepare to get soaked and have a blast at this backyard Water Wars Party—complete with squirt guns, water sprayers, and water balloons. This water war theme is easy to pull together and perfect for a hot summer afternoon!
When I first started planning this outdoor celebration, I decided to group together the dessert table, the "Choose Your Weapon" squirt gun and sprayer display, and the party table in one section of the backyard. This allowed the rest of the backyard to be open for all of the water play.
On the dessert table, I displayed orange, blue, and yellow Sixlets in a Glass Jar Set. I then mixed all of the colors, plus white Sixlets, in a Half-Gallon Cylinder Jar with Lid. I also filled two Half-Gallon Cylinder Jars with Large Shimmer Orange Gumballs and Large Shimmer Yellow Gumballs. In the center of the table I displayed cupcakes decorated with Sixlets. To give the illusion of spraying water, I encircled the table with Light Blue Vinyl Twist and added a backdrop printable behind the table.
Ready. Aim. Eat! I wanted the party table at our water wars celebration to be bright and colorful with the color palette of orange, yellow and blue. On the table, I layered a Teal Satin Table Runner over Orange Gossamer. Next, Premium Clear Plastic Dessert Plates were layered over Small Dart Battle Target Cardboard Cutouts and placed on top of Mimosa Yellow Square Paper Dinner Plates. I also wrapped themed printable bottle labels around Clear Glass Milk Bottles. To complete the place setting, I then placed Light Blue Premium Plastic Forks and Light Blue Premium Plastic Knives on top of Coastal Seaside Dinner Napkins and wrapped them all in a printable napkin wrap design. In the center of the table as a centerpiece, I also placed a matching 8x10 printable of the "Ready. Aim. Eat!" design.
Near each place setting I placed a "Secret Soaker Agent" Towel Favor. These party favors were both adorable and functional. Our young party guests could use the Aqua2ude Aviator Swimming Goggles, Summer Fun Beach Towel and Passport Lanyard while playing at the party. Personalized Blue Baseball Caps were each printed with "Operation: Water Wars" as well. They, too, could be worn at the party and long after as a fun memento. These hats come in a variety of colors which would be a fun way to easily divide and identify teams during the water war. You can't have a water war without a wide variety of squirt guns and water sprayers! I created a "Choose Your Weapon" printable sign and display to showcase all of our fun options. I first painted DIY Unfinished Wood Crates with white paint and then filled them with Sea Life Squirt Guns, Tropical Bird Squirt Guns and Space Squirt Guns. I hung several guns from the Squirt Gun Assortment along the sides of the wooden display. Propped up against the base of the display, I placed Tube Soaker Water Guns, a Super Soaking Water Blaster with Backpack, and a Fire Power Super Soaking Fire Hose with Backpack. These backpack sprayers were so much fun! They were such a huge hit and guaranteed some powerful soaking!
I hope you enjoyed our Water Wars Party! It was quite a splash! Hopefully it has inspired you to have some backyard water fun this summer!
