Vampire Dinner Party

Vampire Dinner Party

Join me for a dramatic and delectable Bite Night! This gothic-inspired vampire dinner party will "stake" your breath away. This party captures the allure & beauty of the infamous creatures of the night. With red satin, lace, roses, skulls, coffins and candles you'll have a bloody good Halloween celebrating your favorite vampire-themed books, movies and TV shows. Never fear, there are plenty of traditional items that repel vampires should things get out of hand. After all, friends don't let friends eat friends!

A Fang-cy Table

I started styling my main table with a black Rectangle Polyester Tablecloth. I then laid a black velvet fabric on top for a lush, rich texture. In the center of the table I used a Silver Three Arm Candelabra; the vintage silver metallics fit well with the gothic vampire look & feel. I placed black Halloween candles in the candelabra to complete the look. These candles bleed red wax when lit! You can also achieve this look by lighting and dripping red candles over black candles before putting them on the table.

At each end of the table I added more black candles into the Silver Candle Holder Set. I chose to spray paint the set black, but these would look equally great in silver.

Sit And Have A Bite

I used a spooky black on black setting for this dinner party to really make the blood-red accents pop.

I painted Gold Scalloped Chargers black, then layered the setting with an oversized black plate and a Black Round Paper Dinner Plate. Metallic Silver Hammered Assorted Cutlery were also set at each place setting.

I gently pulled red satin napkins through sets of White Vampire Fangs for a super simple yet dramatic look. There's no mistaking who is taking a seat at this table!

Next, I added red wine glasses I use every Halloween. I placed them on Rose Beverage Napkins and added Dripping Blood Silicone Bracelets to the rim of each. Spooky perfection! Note: Wash silicone bracelets these before use or remove prior to drinking from glasses.

I dressed up a wine bottle with red foil vinyl wrap to create a blood type label...now it's just the right blood type for the vampire connoisseur!

The final touch to the place settings were place cards that doubled as favors! I painted DIY Coffin-Shaped Boxes silver and glued a Silvertone Cross Necklaces to the front. Then I cut the names of each guest out of black vinyl and added the names to each box.

The guest of honor, Count Dracula, is bound to love them! That's right, don't forget to invite a skeleton version of the famous vampire to your party scene. After all, he can't come in without an invitation! Get him ready for dinner by adding fangs from a set of White Vampire Fangs onto a Life Size Posable Skeleton Halloween Decoration and dressing him in a Men's Cool Vampire Costume.

The Blood Bank

Set up the dessert table (aka the blood bank!) behind your dinner table. Create a gothic mansion vibe by covering the wall in Spider Web Tablecloths.

Hang spooky portraits on the wall; the kind that follow you around the room and change in the blink of an eye! I used the Twins Holograph Portrait Halloween Decoration, Aunt Hazel Holographic Print Halloween Decoration and the Pretty Possessed Print Halloween Decor to bring some fright to my party space.

Use black velvet fabric or a black tablecloth to cover your dessert table. In the center of the table I used a Clear Hurricane Vase that I'd spray painted black and filled it with a dramatic floral arrangement. Using a mix of red roses, carnations, real greenery, Faux Floral Greenery sprayed black and Faux Silver Dollar Eucalyptus Branches. I elevated my arrangement using an Acrylic Riser so that it didn't get lost on the table.

In front of the florals I placed a silver vintage antique tray with blood bags ...volunteer donors I promise! Tip: Add red food coloring to your favorite cocktail to get the blood look and fill bags using a medical syringe.

On one side of the table I used pillar candles on black candlesticks and added Dripping Blood Silicone Bracelets to make it look like the candles were also bleeding. On the other side I added a delicious red velvet cake on a black cake stand.

One of my favorite additions to the table was the Skull Mister Machine Halloween Decoration. Just add water and plug it in to create a spooky mist over the entire table! It even flickers with color. Elevate the mister on a small black cake stand, or use one of the Acrylic Risers to give it some added height.

Add more mood lighting with Black Mercury Glass Votive Candle Holders and Black-Operated Votive Candles. Finally, scatter loose Rose Petals around the table.

Fortune Favors The Grave

Have your guests try their hand at vampire trivia during dinner. I used the Coffin Cardboard Stand-Up to create a game board. Simply add a Dripping Blood Border and Super-Size Gray Creepy Cloth to give it a spooky vibe.

I then used red vinyl to cut out "Name that Vampire" in a gothic font and added this to the front of the coffin along with pictures of famous vampires. These names & photos can be found using a quick internet search. Just print and add to the coffin!

Be sure to download the free printable game sheet HERE, then print and pass them out during the party. Have guests grab Syringe Pens and guess the names of each vampires and their respective movies. This test of wits will drive them batty!

On the other side of the dessert table I used a fabulous 3D Masquerade Ball Candelabra Stand-Up. It's tall and eye-catchingly fabulous with its glam mansion vibes!

But of Corpse a Bar Cart

It wouldn't be a dinner party without a bar cart. I set one up in the corner to display party favors and hold additional blood supplies! It's thirsty work being a vampire. I used a removable hook on the ceiling and a length of black wire to hang a sleeping Bat Skeleton above the bar cart.

I also used Tombstone Yard Signs to decorate around the bar cart...watch out for vampires rising from the grave after dark!

I decorated the actual bar cart with a Rose Garland which I draped across the front and down the side, securing in place with zip ties.

Vampire Hunting Kits

On top of the bar cart I displayed take home favors for each guest; kits for vampire hunters! First, I stained DIY Unfinished Wood Recipe Boxes with a reddish brown wood stain, then I lined them with black velvet. I used a wood burning tool to burn the kit name into the box. This technique gave the boxes a fantastic, antique feel.

Inside each kit I added wooden stakes (grab sticks from your local woods and whittle a pointed end with a sharp knife), a bulb of garlic, a Silvertone Cross Necklace and a bottle of holy water. I used Corked Favor Bottles for the holy water and added "Holy Water" to the front of the bottle using black vinyl.

You're Just My Blood Type

In the center of the bar cart I used a Test Tube Shooter Rack to hold test tubes full of "blood" shots. I added fun blood type labels to the test tubes to keep those vampire guests well-fed. There are lots of blood type label options you can find online.

On the bottom level of the bar cart I used a vintage looking decanter with a Dripping Blood Silicone Bracelets around the neck and filled it with red wine. I placed it on top of a stack of Rose Beverage Napkins for some additional color. To either side of the decanter I added smaller cans of rosé with blood type wine labels glued to the front.

It wouldn't be Halloween without my favorite Skeleton Hand Plastic Cups!

Cheers to all, I hope you have a fang-tastic Halloween!
