What’s more fun than wearing an ugly sweater to a holiday party? Getting together with friends to make your own ugly holiday sweaters! This craft party idea is perfect for tweens and teens to have some creative fun over the holidays. It couldn’t be easier to decorate for this party – just make all the craft supplies the star of the table! Decorate with simple Ugly Sweater Cutouts and Tartan Plaid Tableware. Be sure to award prizes to the ugliest sweaters at the end of the crafting party!

Craft Supply Setup
The more craft supplies, the better! Arrange craft supplies festively on the table including Glitter Christmas Pom-Poms, Christmas Jingle Bells, Mini Santa Hats, and DIY ornaments on a tiered tray.

Display glitter glue and fabric glue on a festive Tartan Plaid Serving Tray. Be sure to have plenty of glue available for each guest. You can use hot glue guns too.

Pile red, green, and white Christmas Pom-Pom Trim in bowls and tinsel garland on a cake stand.

You could also incorporate these Red Mini Holiday Stockings, Christmas Buttons, Christmas Jewels, Christmas Colored Metallic Chenille Stems. The options for craft supplies are endless!
Note: if using glitter glue or fabric glue, the sweaters will need to dry overnight. I wouldn’t recommend machine washing the finished sweaters as the embellishments may not hold up in the washing machine!
Table Settings
Have your guests enjoy some Christmas cookies and other holiday treats before they dive into crafting! Set the each place setting with Tartan Plaid Dinner Plates, Tartan Plaid Dessert Plates, Tartan Plaid Luncheon Napkins and Ugly Sweater Beverage Napkins.

Scatter some Christmas Glitter Pom-Poms around to make the place settings festive.
Hang an Elf Hat on the back of each chair for your guests to wear as they become creative sweater-making elves!

Wall Decor
These large Ugly Sweater Cutouts and an Ugly Sweater Tinsel Garland (similar to shown) are all you need to make a festive backdrop for your party. I added mine to my windows with masking tape.

Sweater Decorating
Now for the best part – decorating! Lay out a sweater for each guest. We found ours at the thrift store and washed them beforehand, but you could also ask guests to bring their own.

With all the craft supplies within arm’s reach, they’ll be occupied for hours!

Awards Table
Set up a cart or side table with these Tartan Plaid Gift Bags holding special prizes or party favors for the guests. Drape an Ugly Sweater Award Sash over the front to be given to the winner at the end of the party.

You can also award these Holiday Ugly Sweater Party Award Stickers for “Most Creative Sweater”, “Funniest Sweater”, and other clever categories too!

Photo Backdrop
Set up a simple photo backdrop for guests to show off their new creations. Just hang this Ugly Sweater Backdrop and set out these Ugly Sweater Photo Stick Props!
