Tropical Pineapple Flamingle

Tropical Pineapple Flamingle

My favorite time of year is most definitely summer. With its longer days filled with sunshine and laziness by the pool or beach, what's not to love? When I think of summer I instantly think tropical vibes and nothing exudes those vibes better than pineapples and flamingos. This bright and sunny flamingle is the perfect way to say aloha to summer! We have made these party details even easier for you with these Free Tropical Flamingle Party Printables! Be sure to download and then let the fun in the sun begin!

Setting the Tropical Scene

The décor for our tropical pineapple flamingle started with a bright and vibrant color palette of light blue, hot pink and yellow with palm leaves galore layered here and there. We created a focal point for the party by painting a large piece of wood a light turquoise color, and then added gorgeous bubblegum pink script "Aloha" from Letters to You using a few glue dots. I adore the mix of pink and blue colors together!

The backdrop was bordered with Artificial Tropical Leaves, and Medium Silk Palm Leaves. Beautiful faux Peonies and Plumeria were added to further the tropical feel. All it took was a bit of hot glue to secure them to the wood.

I couldn't resist adding few jumbo balloons to the corner of the room for an extra pop of color. Large Palm Leaves were tied to the balloons using gold baker's twine

Adorable flowered hula skirts were added to each chair for a touch of whimsy! Guests were invited to wear them during the party and take them home for a fun keepsake to remember the party.

Set a Table That's Luau Ready!

Say aloha to a well-dressed table by starting with a gorgeous DIY faux palm leaf batik tablecloth! To achieve the batik effect, simply place varying sizes of Large Palm Leaves, Artificial Tropical Leaves, Medium Silk Palm Leaves and Tropical Leaves on top of a white rectangular tablecloth and then lightly spray paint over the entire surface. The leaves should stick somewhat for you to be able to go back over the cloth a second time to achieve a darker color. Once the paint has dried, remove the leaves and you're left with a beautiful impression of their shapes behind on the tablecloth!

Our tablecloth wasn't the only thing that received a spray paint makeover, our pineapples joined in the fun too! The golden beauties stood tall in the center of our table and received mini lawn flamingos as fun toppers. The flamingos also received a bit of paint to better coordinate with the color palette. A pretty Plumeria flower was removed from its garland and was added to each golden pineapple.

Medium Silk Palm Leaves and Tropical Leaves mixed with a plethora of faux peonies in a White Ceramic Vase with Gold Trim looked dazzling in between the golden pineapples.

DIY Small Ceramic Pineapples were painted pink and gold and added to the tablescape which all sat atop Large Palm Leaves to round out the tropical tablescape.

Sweet as a Pineapple Place Settings

I love layering plates and getting creative with place settings for parties. Having brightly colored pineapple plates at a tropical pineapple flamingle is a must! We layered Pineapple Square Dessert Plates on top of Pineapple Square Dinner Plates and then added a pineapple lollipop to each. You can find the tutorial for the DIY Pineapple & Flamingo Cupcake Toppers here.

A whimsical pink feather was added to light blue forks and sat atop the cutest Pineapple Lunch Napkin.

I just can't handle how cute these pineapple cups are! Turquoise striped straws and cocktail parasols really made me feel like I was on an island far away from the hustle and bustle of city life!

We also placed a Pineapple Party Favor Bag next to each place setting so guests could fill them with chocolates, gumballs and their DIY Pineapple & Flamingo Cupcake Toppers if they chose.

Pineapples and Sweets

Speaking of  Cupcake Toppers, don't the flamingos look adorable standing tall on top of our store-bought cupcakes? I am not a fan of baking, but I definitely love decorating them after the fact!

We also served pineapple mousse in mini pedestal cups. To achieve the pineapple's "leaves" I melted green chocolate and then used a paintbrush to lightly spread it out like a feather. Then I simply added three to each cup! They were both darling and delicious!

We couldn't have a tropical pineapple flamingle without serving actual pineapple! Mini pedestal cups were filled with sweet pineapple chunks and each received a cute flamingo pick.

Glass Jars were filled with colorful chocolate candies and pink, yellow and blue gumballs for guests to take home in their Pineapple Party Favor Bags.

Our dessert table further carried the tropical vibe thanks to Large Palm Leaves and mini lawn flamingos, which graced white ceramic pots filled with Medium Silk Palm Leaves. A few of the DIY Small Ceramic Pineapples also joined in on the fun!

Mahalo

Pineapples are a symbol of hospitality, and no house should be without one. We sent our guests home with a DIY Small Ceramic Pineapple tied with pink ribbon and the cutest 'Mahalo' flamingo tags to thank guests for flamingling with us. You can find the free printable tags on the right under the list of supplies. If you're not ready for the party to end, why not set up a painting station? Keep a few paintbrushes and a paint palette full of tropical paints for impromptu painting sessions!

We also displayed our Wooden Pineapple Sign on our favors table to remind guests to "Be a pineapple: stand tall, wear a crown and be sweet on the inside". I can't think of a better life lesson than that!
