There's no better way to celebrate summer than with a colorful tropical flamingo pool party! Make a splash with family and friends to soak up the sun in style!
Tropical Centerpieces
To add a taste of the tropics to the outdoor dining table, I started with some cute bright pink mini flamingos. These are the perfect size for a centerpiece!
Mini white pails with sand inside helped each mini flamingo stand up nice and tall. I can't get over how cute the plumeria flowers are clipped to the flamingo legs! Extra flowers were set aside for the girls to wear in their hair too, just like in my daughter's Moana birthday party.
Tropical Place Settings
Each place setting started as a fringe placemat as the base.
A bright tropical leaf was placed diagonally on each placemat, with a gold-rimmed dinner plate on top. These pretty plates were a great way to add some sophistication and glam to the casual luau feel of the placemats and leaves.
Light pink plates were taken to a new level with bright pink flamingos cut out of paper and placed underneath clear dessert plates. Bamboo fans were placed diagonally on the right side of each plate to keep guests cool.
Pretty pink peonies made the perfect drink coasters for clear soda bottles with darling printable labels on them! Each label says something different, like "Stay wild," "Let's flamingle," "Aloha," and more. I used a thin layer of craft glue and a foam brush to attach each label to the bottles. After the party, I placed the bottles in hot soapy water to remove the labels so I could reuse the bottles for another party. Be sure to download the free printable tropical bottle labels!
To create the flower coasters, I just popped a couple of the flowers off of their stems, then placed a few layers underneath each drink bottle. Just one flower can be used under multiple bottles for a unique and fun look!

Tabletop bamboo torches add to the tropical luau feel of the party and can be lit for the adults or used without lighting if there will be children at the party.
Food Table and Backdrop
With just a few tropical leaves, colorful flowers, a flamingo garland, and a backdrop stand, I made an amazing Tropical Party Backdrop!
The middle was deliberately left open so that party guests could see through the display to the pool.
I layered a chic clear gold pineapple tablecloth over a yellow tablecloth to add more color to the table.
Large pink flamingos were placed in wood boxes in front of the table to help them stand up. I placed giant glitter leaf cutouts around the flamingo legs. I love the depth they added!
A large bright pineapple piñata did double duty as both a centerpiece and a fun party activity.
One of my favorite elements of our tropical pool party is the Pineapple Palm Tree. Can you believe it was made from just three real pineapples, faux palm leaves, and clear donut stands? Learn how to make this fun pineapple palm tree display here.
Underneath the pineapple palm tree was a huge platter of pineapple, papaya, honeydew, cantaloupe, strawberries, and grapes. Pink flamingo picks are perfect for picking up individual pieces of fruit.
I created tropical-themed food labels with our party food names on them, plus I created some blank ones so you can write or type in the food for your party! Get the free tropical food labels here.
The food labels were made to fit perfectly inside the clear acrylic frames for an easy and darling addition to the table!
Pink and green flamingo boxes contain sweet treats for party guests.
I also made and decorated some sugar cookies with tropical leaves to match the party theme.
Pineapple lemonade and mango nectar in matching drink dispensers were stacked on a wood crate with labels in acrylic frames underneath them.
Love the honeycomb pineapple decoration in front of the box! The matching smaller pineapples that came in the set were hung on the party backdrop among the leaves and the flowers.
Hand painted Tropical Leaf Tote Bags are a great way to thank guests for coming to the party. I simply traced a palm leaf onto a white tote bag, then painted the leaf green.
