Are you ready to party like a pineapple and fiesta like a flamingo!? We created the ultimate kids’ tropical oasis for our Fun and Fruity Flamingo Party! Spring and summer are the perfect seasons for this playful tropical theme! You can easily recreate this fresh and cheerful theme at home with a few of our design tips and tricks, DIY ideas and a refreshing homemade Pink Flamingo Gelato Recipe!
The Table:
Set the scene by bringing in plenty of bright, tropical colors. We opted for green, pink and yellow. We layered our Light Pink Plastic Tablecloth with a runner made from Tropical Leaves for a lush, warm look. This runner is so easy, it took seconds to create! Simply layer the leaves in cross crossing patterns and, voila! Instant tropical leaf table runner.
The Place Settings:
Include plenty of tropical inspiration at each place setting so the kids are in the mood to party! We started by layering a Hot Pink Charger with a Bright Pineapple Paper Dinner Plate, followed by a Flamingo Square Paper Dinner Plate topped with a round Flamingo Paper Dessert Plate. We love layering plates for 2 main reasons. First, it immediately takes a place setting from boring to bold. A single plate on a table looks flat and lackluster. Secondly, and kids are constantly eating (and making a mess of plates). You can simply clean up the top plate after a meal or snack and there’s a second plate set to go for cake, pizza, snacks and more!
These perfectly fruity Pineapple Cups with Lids are as cute as they are fun to use! We added adorable Pink Flamingo Straws which only made them fit our party theme even more. The kids simply loved sipping fruit punch out of these fun cups!
The kids enjoyed using the themed Tropical Flatware and we liked displaying the Bright Pineapple Luncheon Napkins to clean up sticky little fingers.
Also consider layering these cute little Flamingo Favor Boxes on your place setting. These are not only perfect for toting home some extra sweets or treats, but kids just love carrying them around.
We added a fun little Pineapple Character Lollipop for the kids to enjoy as well!
The Food:
After layering up the plates, a petite Pineapple Dish was filled with our Pink Flamingo Gelato Recipe and topped with yellow sprinkles, a Pineapple Character Lollipop and the cutest Flamingo Swirl Lollipop. The kids absolutely loved this sweet snack and it looked oh so cute inside the bowls!
The Centerpiece:
This centerpiece is not only super adorable but is so easy to make! We simply flipped over a DIY Flower Box Centerpiece and painted it a pineapple yellow tone.
Next we added adorable miniature pineapple decor from a Pineapple Garland and attached a Mini Pink Flamingo Yard Ornament to the front.
Just add a few Bright Pineapple Luncheon Napkins and Pineapple Cups with Lids to the top and you’re finished with the centerpiece.
Lastly, add a few more Mini Pink Flamingo Yard Ornaments and Pineapple Cups with Lids to the table for an adorable pop of pink!
The Backdrop:
We created a super simple backdrop for our party. This small detail makes a big statement!
We taped up a few spare Tropical Leaves from our table runner along with some Bright Pineapple Hanging Paper Lanterns and petite pineapples from the Pineapple Garland to create this 5-minute flamingo vibe.
The Snack Bar:
Kids love to eat and drink as they play so a small snack area where the kids can serve themselves is always a must. We dressed up our snack bar in a Yellow Plastic Tablecloth, a coordinating Fringe Table Skirt and some extra Tropical Leaves
On our sweets table we displayed extra Pineapple Cups full of tropical fruit punch and a few extra Pineapple Dishes filled with sweet treats.
We also displayed some Hibiscus Leis for the kids to wear as they snacked and played. These are so cute because they come in a variety of colors so kids can play dress up.
The leis even have matching Hibiscus Hair Clips.
The kids loved wearing the perfect pint-sized Artificial Green Grass Hula Skirts too!
The Activities:
Our kids are old enough that at parties, they generally entertain themselves. That being said, we typically like to plan at least one party activity or craft.
This darling DIY Flamingo and Pineapple Hand Print Craft takes the perfect amount of time to make before kids start itching to run around again. You can check out how to create this adorable keepsake here.
The Favors:
Lastly, always send guests home with a favor they can really use! We transformed these super cute Pineapple Drawstring Bags to fit our flamingo theme. Check out our fun DIY Pineapple and Flamingo Tote Bag Tutorial to see how!
