Tropical Baby Shower

Tropical Baby Shower

Oh baby! Grab a pineapple slushie and get ready to flamingle with friends at this tropical baby shower. I personally cannot get enough of pineapple decor these days, so this party was extra fun to put together. From the palm leaves, to the DIY gold and floral pineapple centerpieces, to the baby pink pineapple balloons, this party will make any mama-to-be happy.

Tropical Baby Shower

The Backdrop

I set the scene at this tropical baby shower with giant DIY letter balloons. They are very easy to create and make such a statement at the party!

Inflate all four B-A-B-Y letter balloons and simply spray paint them light pink. Only spray paint one side, no need to do both sides if they will be up on a wall. Let dry completely. Once dry, remove the gold glitter pineapples from this garland and stick them all over the balloons with tape loops.

These balloons are big, beautiful, and heavy! In order to get them to stick to the wall, use a lot of masking tape loops on the back of each one.

TIP: When the party is over and it's time to dispose of the balloons, go outside and make a slit with scissors to deflate and put them in trash bags. The paint begins to flake off as the balloons deflate, so it's best to avoid a mess by handling them outside.

I also added a handful of palm leaves to the backdrop wall. These come a dozen to a pack and are perfect for spreading throughout the party.

Tropical Baby Shower Table

The Dining Table

I started by decorating the dining table with a gorgeous rose gold metallic tablecloth. Next, I used a rose gold sequin table runner and laid medium silk palm leaves down the center of the table, coupled with fresh flower blooms on top.

Gold Pineapple Centerpiece

Pineapple Flower Vase Centerpiece

My DIY Gold and Floral Pineapple Centerpieces were by far my favorite party decoration at this shower. They turned out so cute! To see how I made them, visit my full DIY post for the step-by-step instructions.

Pineapple Party Place Settings

The Place Settings

The place settings at this pineapple baby shower were so bright and fun! I used bamboo print placemats, pineapple dinner plates and dessert plates, candy pink dinner napkins, metallic gold cutlery, and pineapple beverage napkins.

Pineapple Party Slushies and Cupcakes

The Food & Drink

The star of the party were the pineapple slushies, which can be made without alcohol or with rum. They were so good and refreshing! Visit my full Pineapple Slushies post for the recipe - you won't be disappointed!

I served the slushies in gold foil pineapple cups with the most adorable pineapple paper straws and bright pineapple stir sticks. I dressed up cupcakes with flamingo and palm tree food picks.

Decorated Pineapple Sugar Cookies

These darling pineapple cookies were made by my local bakery, Buttermilk Baking Company, and sat on a large pineapple serving tray.

Pineapple Party Naked Cake

My favorite item on the dessert bar was this store-bought cake that I simply dressed-up. It started as a $10 naked cake from my grocery bakery. I chopped off the top of a pineapple and added the stem to the top of the cake. I then added some fresh flowers and a flamingo pinwheel and had an ADORABLE and affordable tropical baby shower cake!

This tropical baby shower truly has all the elements for a perfect summer party to celebrate baby and the mom-to-be!
