Some of my favorite Halloween memories with my kids from are the Halloween meals we'd share before going trick-or-treating. Spaghetti worms with eyeball meatballs, bread stick spiders, and red juice "blood" were always favorite menu items. It was all so fun! If your family is like mine and loves a ghoulish Halloween meal, you may want to consider throwing Trick-or-Treating Dinner Party. It's such a festive way to kick off a fun night, and it's something they (and you) will always remember! Take a peek below at our version of this kind of frightful feast. Bone Appetit!
Begin by setting a festive tablescape that will get the kiddos excited! Covering the table with a Fadeless® Art Black Paper Roll gives you a great foundation and makes for super easy cleanup. Next, add some Halloween flair!
Anchor each place setting with an incredibly cute DIY Spider Web Placemat and some Scary Spiders. A free printable plate label adhered to a Black Solid Scalloped Paper Dinner Plate looks fantastic layered on top, and ties all of the colors together.
I created free printable cutlery sleeves in three designs that can be mixed and matched on your table, and they're an awesome way to display the gold cutlery. Purple Metallic Polka Dot Napkins are great for balancing out each place setting and they mimic the fun vibe of the printables as well.
Halloween Character Cups with Straws can easily be jazzed up with free printable party straw flags. I think they add a festive Halloween touch to the dining table.
Our Halloween centerpiece idea echoes the "bone" theme and is packed with color! I used Bone-Shaped Erasers in the party colors to line the table, and I also tucked a few among some small white pumpkins inside a vintage cage piece. Not only are the bone erasers great for this theme, but they can serve double-duty as party favors, too!
After dinner is over kick off the trick-or-treating festivities. Invite the kiddos to fill a bag full of goodies at a trick-or-treat favor station! This free printable "BONE Appetit" Poster download serves as a spooktacular backdrop and is just so darn cute! Orange and white fringe streamers draped around the poster create a faboolous frame and add some dimension to the decor.
A DIY Skeleton Halloween Garland fits perfectly into the "BONE Appetit" theme and adds just the right amount of pizzazz to the table front.
A 5x7 "Treat Yo'Self" party sign and an adorable text image for treat bags are both available in the free printable pack for this party. Display the sign in a frame adorned with spiders or a Spookadelic Neon Skeleton for a fun touch. The text image can be printed directly onto White Cake Treat Bags and then the kids can go to town filling them up with goodies!
I lined the trick-or-treat table with a Black and White Striped Table Runner, then loaded the table up with treats for the kids to grab. Our goodies included desserts and snacks that the kids could munch on right then and there (cake, cookies, and Halloween snack mix served in Skeleton Paper Snack Cups), as well as treats to tuck into the treat bags.
Our "to go" treats included lime green and purple gumballs and Silhouette Halloween Buttermints. For a nice presentation, display the goodies in Tall Jars with Lids and mount them on White Candle Holders (spray painted black). I glued a few scary spiders onto the jars to add a little creep factor.
Remember to download the FREE Trick-or-Treating Dinner Party Printables for this party, and be sure to check out the Skeleton Halloween Garland and the Spider Web Placemat to make your trick-or-treat dinner party complete! Happy Halloween!
