Take Flight Down the Aisle
What could be more romantic than walking down the aisle with paper planes flying overhead after you've officially become Mr. and Mrs.
I kicked off this travel inspired wedding by setting up a station of paper planes for guests to take before the ceremony. The planes, displayed in a White Mini Suitcase Centerpiece each have a wish for the new couple on them; health, happiness, love, luck and wealth.
I decorated the station with the paper planes, a fun pink camera and a large globe. I used a gold foil pen to paint over the land masses on The Pioneer Globe, this really got the guests into a glamorous jet-setting mood. A globe this size could also double as a guestbook or why not have guests put a pin in their recommended honeymoon destination!

Fasten Your Seat Belt
As guests are seated show them exactly how much you love travel and each other by turning your chair backs into a "map to each other's hearts". Have a little fun with cheeky bride & groom names; declare yourselves "Pilot" and "Co-Pilot".

The Flight Deck
I set each table highlighting air travel around the globe.
I named each wedding table with a Destination Table Name. I added the name of the destination in gold foil letters onto a piece of map paper and placed it into a Gold Table Frame. I went bold with the frame, adding a layer of Gold Glitter to give it some pop!
You can name the tables after places you've travelled to, places you hope to see as a couple or maybe locations that are important to you as a couple "where you first kissed", "where you fell in love", or "where the proposal happened".
At the center of each table a Explorer Classroom Globe sits on top of a White Mini Suitcase Centerpiece. I customized the globe, using a gold foil paint pen to color the land masses on the globe gold. I then glued small pink paper planes onto the globe. I also added a Gold Glitter Luggage Tag to the suitcase with stickers from the Happy Planner Sticker Roll - Travel as fun accents.
You could also use the globes to write the unique destination names on in place of the framed names.
For the table florals I wanted a smaller bouquet at each end. To get the gold and white look for the vase, I used the gold foil pen (you can also use gold paint) to paint the bottom of a ceramic vase.
Airline Meals
While you may not be serving airline meals to your guests (!) you can still incorporate travel details into an elegant gold and pink setting.
To do this I used personalized adventure begins napkins folded into the shape of a paper plane (each with a small plane sticker accent) on top of each setting.
For each setting I started with a Gold Charger, adding a pink plate and followed by Gold Rimmed Paper Dessert Plate. I used Premium Metallic Gold Cutlery for each setting and a Gold Stem Champagne Glass paired with a Premium Clear Crystal Plastic Wine Glass.
The place cards were also another area where travel can be incorporated. I added red ribbon to a Passport Lanyard and replaced the insert with a boarding pass that included the guests name and table details. Download the free Travel Themed Place Cards here!

Cake In The Carry-On
I fell in love with the design of the World Traveler Posters set. They are super affordable and make a beautiful backdrop for the wedding cake.
The cake by Confection Deception includes silhouette scenes from the locations in the poster and is topped with a Personalized Adventure Begins Cake Topper.
An Adventure For All
I sat the fabulous 3-tiered cake on top of a stack of suitcases. Vintage suitcases and a Gold Mini Suitcase Centerpiece to give it height.
I used the wedding favors around the cake as unique decor during the cake cutting photos. Inflatable World Globes are a fun favor that can be easily personalized.
After inflating them I added a message thanking guests for flying with the happy couple. I used my Cricut to cut this message onto adhesive vinyl. Alternatively use stickers or hand write the message.
Everyone loved the playfulness of this take home favor and many were inspired to take a ride on a jet plane! Boarding has commenced! Wishing your wedding flight a safe takeoff!
