Brush Up on Bridal Beauty Plans

Brush Up on Bridal Beauty Plans

Planning for your wedding day includes deciding your hairstyle and makeup looks for the day. Start collecting ideas and practicing beauty routines six months ahead of time to be ready for a picture perfect day.

Tips for Creating a Flawless Bridal Beauty Plan:

  • Clip photos of hairstyles and makeup looks from magazines, Pinterest boards, screen shots from Instagram, etc. Look at celebrities on red carpets and other beauty publications in addition to brides for inspiration. Many brides use Pinterest as an outlet for all their wedding ideas. We have some Pinterest organization tips for you to help!
  • Invest in a great line of skincare to use in the months up to the wedding so that your complexion radiates during photographs. Your wedding photos will be around forever to remember one of the best days of your life. Here are some tips on Choosing a Wedding Photographer.
  • Consider the elements of your wedding destination. If you're getting married outside during the summer, you might want to keep your hair up and your makeup light so you don't get too sweaty. Updos are also good for windy locations like beaches.
  • Stay true to your personal style. If you don’t usually wear a lot of makeup, your wedding day is not the time to start layering it on. Practice different looks during the months leading up to your wedding. Ask friends to do your makeup to find looks that you like. Find a long lasting lipstick you l-o-v-e! Take a few selfies to see how different these looks photograph. If you are hiring a makeup artist for day of wedding, you’ll want to schedule a trial before the wedding. These DIY trials will give you some discussion points with your artist and help narrow in on the perfect wedding look more quickly.
  • If you're having a professional hair stylist, plan a trial run to ensure inspiration photos look good on you. Give yourself time to experiment with different looks and change your mind. Bring the veil or any hair accessories to see the complete look. As suggested above, doing some DIY trials can help save you money because it should not be assumed multiple trials with your stylist are free. Your regular hairstylist may not specialize in updos. If not, ask for recommendations from friends, family, your wedding planner and wedding websites. Budget plays a role into this. • The purpose of planning ahead is to have everything in place when your wedding day finally comes. Sit back and relax with your bridesmaids in some of these cute floral robes and everything will turn out beautiful.

When booking a wedding hairstylist and makeup artist, decide if you wish to offer these services to your bridesmaids. You don't have to pay for their hair and makeup, although it could be part of their bridesmaid gift. However, you do want to be sure to have enough hands on deck!
