Who’s ready for Halloween? It happens to be my favorite holiday for decorating and hosting parties! Each year I host a signature Halloween party and this year I have the perfect theme. Both of my daughters love to craft and one of my favorite Halloween movies to watch with them is Hocus Pocus, so what better party theme than a craft party hosted by witches! It’s a Witch-Themed Craft Party of course! Invite your friends over for a night of crafts and spooky hocus-pocus fun. Check out all the creepy cool projects including DIY Witch Hat Headbands, DIY Charmed Witch Glasses and a yummy Witch Potion Recipe you can whip up in minutes.
As a professional party planner, I am always asked for shortcuts and tips for hosting a party, especially as we head into the beginning of the busy holiday season. Here I made it super simple for you to recreate this party theme with a full shopping list of items from Oriental Trading. Order soon and you'll have all you need in plenty of time to host your own WitchCRAFT party!
Set The Scene with Spooky Decorations! Oriental Trading has lots of cool decor to truly set the scene for a witch party. This Witch with Cauldron Stand-Up paired with the Halloween Silhouette Décor Kit made the perfect backdrop for the table without having to use a full fabric or vinyl backdrop. Every crafty witch needs craft supplies, so I filled the witch potion cabinet with Ball® Mason Jars and Craft Bottles that held lots of craft supplies. Party Tip: When hosting parties in your home, sometimes space is limited. I always suggest buying one 6-foot table and using it for multiple occasions. Here, I used the one table to display drinks, party favors, candy and desserts.
Set The Scene with Themed Costumes! Setting the scene doesn't only mean decorations. Guests can set the scene too by wearing themed costumes to match the party like this Spell Casting Sweetie Jr. Girl's Costume and Moonlight Magic Witch Girl's Costume.
Welcome Guests with a Witch Craft! As guests arrive, have each one grab a paint palette with a Witch Enamel Charm Bracelet Craft Kit. They can get started making their own witch charm bracelet. Party Tip: The craft kit comes with a set of 2. Be sure to order enough to have one for each guest and have them all separated and organized in the paint palettes, which is a lifesaver when working on a craft with small pieces.
Set Up a Witch Potions Bar! Guests will love to visit the witch potions bar where they can make their own Witch's Brew in these spooky Charmed Witch Glasses. Decorate the witch potions bar with this Dark Magic Book Animated Prop opened to reveal the spell for witches brew...perfect!
Serve Spooky Desserts! Set up a dining table where your witches can enjoy yummy desserts like these custom WitchCRAFT Halloween cookies made by Auntie Bea's Bakery. Party Tip: As the holidays get busier, save time by serving store-bought cupcakes instead of baking your own. Dress them up with witch hat fondant toppers made by Edible Details for an added custom touch. Guests can also enjoy a few candy items like Pop Rocks® Candy, Sparkling Lime Green Chocolate Candies and Witch's Broom Frosted Suckers displayed in these awesome Cauldron Can Covers.
Witch's Circle Dining Table! The dining table or "witch's circle" is easy to set up using Halloween Silhouette Dinner Plates, Black & White Striped Beverage Napkins and Metallic Gold Forks and Spoons wrapped with Striped Chenille Stems. I made the centerpiece by placing a Black Spider Wreath over a Black Witch Hat and putting it on top of a Black Cauldron.
Party Tip: When hosting a party at your home and space is at a minimum, use your dining table as a craft table. Simply layer your place setting with two dinner plates— one Black Chevron Scalloped Edge Dinner Plate for crafts topped with a Halloween Silhouette Dinner Plate for eating. Simply remove the dinner plate after eating and you now have a craft table!
Make Witch Hat Headbands! What's a WitchCRAFT party without crafts? Guests will have fun gathering around the witch's circle dining table to make these DIY Witch Hat Headbands and taking them home as party favors.
I hope you are inspired to host your own Witch-Themed Craft Party. Be sure to check out my other posts with step-by-step instructions on how to make DIY Witch Hat Headbands, DIY Charmed Witch Glasses and my Witch's Brew Recipe. Happy Halloween!
