There is just something about Super Mario that truly resonates with the child in us! Now that we are grown, we adore that our kids love these beloved video game characters just as much as we did when we were young. We just adore that his game has come full circle, which made this Super Mario party a blast to create and so much fun for the kids to enjoy! With plenty of classic Mario imagery, some of our very favorite characters and, of course, some fun and easy DIYS and recipes, this party is totally the next level up!
The Table:
When we set out to plan this party, we knew we wanted to focus on a majority of the classic Mario colors.
We started with our table, which was layered in a crisp white linen topped with a red gossamer runner. The gossamer was topped with a folded Super Mario table cloth which served as a secondary table runner.
The Place Settings:
We wanted to keep our place settings both youthful and eye appealing.
We layered the Super Mario dinner plates and dessert plates atop of a lime green plate for a bold and colorful look.
Resting to the right of the plates was a Super Mario napkin topped with a red and white beverage napkin. We loved how these napkins reminded us of the classic mushroom imagery from the game. Blue cutlery rested on the set of napkins.
Guests sipped on a sweet and refreshing cool blue beverage out of glass milk bottles. Each bottle was enhanced with classic Mario style stars and red and white striped paper straws.
The Centerpiece:
A centerpiece is one of the best way to set the scene for any event and this DIY Mario Man Eating Flower Centerpiece does exactly that!
Full of bold and bright colors, classic scenes from the games and of course the inclusion of one of the sneakiest foes in this series, these chomping flowers not only look awesome but really capture one of the most challenging and fun parts of the game!
With green flower pot crafted "pipes", polka dotted chomping flowers and a colorful stand, this centerpiece really helps to set the scene!
The Backdrop and Dessert Table:
We really wanted to create the illusion that our guests were "inside" their favorite game, and creating a larger than life version of the scenery and key images from Super Mario was a really fun way to do it!
With crafty mushrooms, gold coins, clouds, bricks and more, this DIY Super Mario Party Backdrop was so fun to create!
Our guests loved posing for pictures in front of it in their favorite Super Mario and Luigi gear!
The Snacks:
Guests loved sipping on more delicious drinks out of themed Mario paper cups with coordinating striped paper straws.
Guests also loved snacking on delicious (and incredibly easy!) Toadstool Chocolate Marshmallow Pops!
This no bake recipe is so simple and takes only minutes to prep.
We displayed them in mason jars full of lime green gumballs for a playful and yummy look!
