The time has come for your little ray of sunshine to turn one and what better way to celebrate than with this sweet sunflower themed birthday party? This theme is truly timeless can be adapted in so many fun ways. I used the traditional yellow color scheme and added feminine pink and crisp white to give the party a fresh, modern look. Styling with acrylics, balloons and an abundance of flowers will make it look like you spent hours DIY'ing. We're sure this party set-up is one your guests of all ages will love.
Bring Sunshine to the Table
I created a light & breezy table using light pink chargers layered with Sunflower Party Dinner Paper Plates. I then tucked a sweet Sunflower Party Luncheon Napkin with a touch of pink under the plate.
Next, I placed a Pink Plastic Fork & Spoon Cutlery Set inside a Sunflower Party Cutlery Silverware Holder and added these to the other side of the setting. The last essential was a Clear Premium Plastic Wine Glass.
Next, I added take home gifts that doubled as pretty table decor. These simple party favors were made a Mini Blush Favor Box filled with treats and topped with a sunflower accent. To create the sunflower accent I cut one of the sunflowers from a Sunflower Party Napkin Ring and used a glue dot to attach it to the top of the box.
I painted DIY Ceramic Mini Flowerpots pink and filled them with a mix of Sunflower Boutonnieres and Faux Sunflower Heads to create a small arrangement for each guest. A small piece of floral foam was used to secure each stem in place.
Sweets Under the Sun
I set up the dessert table under a fabulous sunshine filled garland! I created the garland using the Sunflower Party Latex Balloon Garland Kit as a base. I also layered in a mix of Yellow 9" Latex Balloons, Pink 5" Latex Balloons, Citrine Yellow 11" Latex Balloons, Petal Pink Custom Color Double Stuffed 11" Balloons, 9" Light Pink Latex Balloons and Sunflower Party 11" Latex Balloons to create a longer garland with pink accents.
Next, I added in the paper flowers, included in the Sunflower Party Latex Balloon Garland Kit, as well as several Sunflower Embellishments. Under the balloon garland I added the paper Sunflower Party Garland; this design ties back to the plates on the table perfectly.
One end of the garland flows into a statement making BABY block stack. Baby is turning one with style! I used the Yellow Balloon Block Boxes Kit, which came with all the balloons to fill the boxes and added Sunflower Embellishments to the outside of the boxes. These boxes are so easy to customize using vinyl, large letter stickers or a chalk marker. You could add your child's name or age to the box instead of the provided "Baby" or "Love" letters.
To bring the pink into the dessert table setting, I used a piece of pink gingham fabric as a table runner.
I used a clear glass cake stand to raise the Fillable Cake Stand. This is one of my favorite new products! I love how versatile it is no matter what type of party you're throwing. I removed the sunflowers from the Faux Sunflower Greenery Garland and filled the cake stand with them. This is such a show stopping look!
I then used a Self-Inflating 1st Birthday Yellow 6" Mylar Balloon (without the provided stick) and a Sunflower Stem wrapped around the bottom to create a topper on the cake.
In front of the cake stand I always like to place a stack of extra napkins; the Sunflower Party Beverage Napkins are a great size.
For the younger guests I love to have smaller cupcakes available. To display these I used the larger 2 stands from the Acrylic Riser Set. I placed the larger one on its side with the open bottom facing backwards. I then placed Sunflower Embellishments inside and slipped in the medium-sized stand to hold them in place.

The cupcakes look beautiful on the acrylic stand all dressed up with Sunflower Party Cupcake Liners With Picks.
On the other side of the dessert table I used the smaller riser as a display for the Sunflower Lollipops. I filled it with Yellow Lemon Jelly Beans Candy to hold the lollipops up so they could really shine!
I then filled the Short Round Pedestal Jar with Large Shimmer Yellow Gumballs and created a cute sunflower accent for the jar using a Felt Sunflower Embellishment. I removed the brown centers and replaced them with Light Pink Yarn Pom-Poms to match the color palette.
I love to have a smash cake for the guest-of-honor. I used a matching clear cake stand to display the smaller pink cake then accented it with same felt accent (attached using food safe gum paste).
I hung a Sunflower & Daisy Flower Crown over the back of the highchair which was just perfect for those cake smash shots!
At the other end of the garland I used a yellow grid wall to display a sign and Sunflower & Daisy Sunglasses. These are the cutest and are perfect for kids and adults alike. My daughter and I love them!
A Seat in the Sun
There are always siblings and smaller kids at 1st birthday parties, so I like to have a kids table set up in addition to the tables for parents, family and friends. Sunflower Embellishments are the perfect decorative addition to the chairs (attach to the front or on the seat backs).
I also used Felt Sunflower Embellishments (removing the brown centers and replacing with Light Pink Yarn Pom-Poms) as decoration on the tabletop. Little hands will love the texture.
I set the kids' table with Light Pink Paper Dinner Plates topped with a Sunflower Party Dessert Paper Plate and Sunflower Party Luncheon Napkin under the plate. A Sunflower Party Paper Cup and pink plastic fork were also added.
The Sunflower Lollipops are a great age-appropriate treat.
Sunflower & Daisy Flower Crowns doubled as a decorative accent for the plates and can also be worn at home long after the party is over!
Don't worry, I didn't forget the candy take-home favor! The Pink Treat Bags can be filled with all sorts of treats! I used Sunflower Twist Ties to complete the themed look.
The sun is out and it's time to celebrate your little one's milestone birthday with love. I hope you've found more than enough inspiration from this party setup!
