The Creation Story

Kick off your Sunday School lessons with the first book of the Bible – Genesis. This is a natural starting point for Bible lessons, and there are lots of fun, creative ways to reinforce the lessons. As children learn how God created the heavens and the earth, activities such as coloring, crafts and sticker scenes help them learn in a hands-on way. 3-Minute Creations challenges the students to create something really awesome in just 3 minutes. Round one of this activity includes easy to gather supplies. Round two removes all supplies and issues the same challenge. This activity leads into a great discussion about the power and magnificence of God. Of course, guiding questions also help children think about all of God's amazing creations. Along with using the Creation Teacher Companion, download the full lesson plan, and use the crafts and activities in this Creation Sunday School Lesson Plan to round out your lesson.

Daniel and the Lions' Den

The tale of Daniel's unwavering faith when thrown into a lions' den is a favorite Bible story for children – and adults, too! Encourage children to exhibit faith in difficult situations with coloring pages and crafts that remind them to trust in God. If kids need to get the wiggles out, you can even play a quick game of Daniel, Daniel, Lion (played like Duck, Duck, Goose). Older kids can read the story of Daniel and the Lions' Den directly from the Bible as younger children color or complete crafts. Follow up by asking age-appropriate questions that make kids think ponder what they've learned.

Jonah and the Whale

The book of Jonah holds a wonderful story about how God is patient and never stops loving us! He gives people second chances to do the right thing, just as He gave Jonah a second chance when he chose to disobey God. As you teach children the story of Jonah, choose activities that bring your Sunday School lesson to life. From a Jonah and the Whale puppet craft to paper plate crafts and sticker scenes, these Sunday School crafts help children focus on the greatness of God's love. Have older children read the Bible story aloud as littles finish their crafts.

Other activity ideas include playing a Jonah and the Whale version of tag (great for getting the wiggles out) or doing fun experiments with common household items (complete details are in the lesson plan). Be sure to get the Jonah & The Whale Teacher Companion and download the complete Jonah and the Whale Sunday School lesson plan to use along with these Jonah & The Whale craft and activity ideas.
