Star Wars™ continues to dominate top party themes, and it's not hard to see why with the release of a new movie and The Mandalorian series this year. If you know a Star Wars fan, put together an out of this world Star Wars baby shower for their little Jedi-to-be. The force is strong in this Star Wars themed shower! There are so many fabulous themed decorations inspired by both the light and dark forces to transform your baby shower celebration.
For this baby shower theme I decided to go with a Star Wars inspired color palette of metallic blues, black, silver and a pop of Yoda green to create a fun, galactic vibe.
THE TABLE
I set my table with modern ghost chairs and added Black Stars to the backs of each chair.
I set the table with deep blue sequin tablecloths that felt just like sparkling stars in the sky. In the center of the table I placed a baby onesie in a patterned vinyl. The pattern actually features with baby C-3PO & R2-D2! I used a onesie from the Talking Tables Born To Be Loved Garland as the base and glued the vinyl to the shape.
At each end of the table I added a DIY Unfinished Wood Framed Star that was updated with bright, metallic silver paint.
THE PLACE SETTINGS
A place setting is a great place to really emphasize the theme of a party. I started with a Metallic Black Hexagon Paper Dinner Plate and then added an Iridescent Out of This World Star Paper Dessert Plate on top.
I then added Silver Metallic Polka Dot Luncheon Napkins. I just love the way the metallic dots look like moon craters. Next, I added Silvertone Metallic Forks, knives and spoons as well as a Clear Premium Plastic Wine Glass to every place setting.
To finish off the place settings I placed a fabric silver star favor filled with sweets on one side of the setting and a DIY Moon Vase on the other. The fun thing about these vases is that they double as clever place cards! Get the full tutorial and supply list to make the DIY Moon Vases HERE. You'll love how this doubles as a take home favor for guests!
The focal point for this baby shower is a spectacular balloon backdrop and arch. A cascade of moons, stars and life-size Star Wars characters play off of a Space Galaxy Backdrop.
I started by spelling out "BABY JEDI" across the Space Galaxy Backdrop using a Blue Baby Mylar Balloon Banner and individual J, E, D, I letter balloons. Tape down the hanging tabs on each balloon for a clean look and adhere the letters to the backdrop using glue dots.
It's always fun to inject a little humor into parties and events. For this shower I made Star Wars action figures scale the Baby Jedi lettering by hanging them from lengths of Blue Baker's Twine.
To the side of the letters I created a large balloon garland by attaching jumbo black, black, chrome silver, silver metallic, blue metallic, chrome blue, light blue and Silver Star-Shaped Mylar Balloons to a 50-Ft. Balloon Decorating Strip. I interspersed Star Wars Character 5" Latex Balloons throughout the arch. At the end of the garland I added an R2-D2 Airwalkers® Mylar Balloon, representative of the force.
On the other side of the arch is a Stormtrooper Airwalkers® Mylar Balloon standing guard which represents the dark side. He is huge and really a fantastic piece of eye-catching decor.
On the dessert table I added a galaxy themed cake on top of glamorous white florals to match our DIY Place Card Vases. A crossed pair of light sabers drew focus to the cake at the center of the table.
I used the painted top of a Space Party Molded Moon Cup and a Silver Glittery Star Wand to create a DIY cake topper.
Next to the cake I placed a DIY Baby Yoda Diaper Cake. Diaper cakes make fabulous decor in addition to being a gift for the mom-to-be. Find out how to make your own Yoda Diaper Cake HERE. Accent the diaper cake with a blue spray painted DIY Unfinished Wood Framed Star.
I added another Molded Moon Cup turned vase on a cupcake stand as an accent in addition to a silver sprayed DIY Unfinished Wood Framed Star.
To represent the forces of good vs. evil I used an Adult's Deluxe Star Wars 2-Piece Darth Vader Mask on the opposite side of the table from Yoda.
Finally, as a welcome to guests and a nod to Star Wars fans everywhere, I placed a DIY Star Wars Baby Shower Sign at the entrance of the party space Find out how to make your Baby Shower Sign HERE and May the Force be with You!
