If you're Irish, or just want to bring some extra luck in your home this St. Patrick's Day, then this is the mantel for you! I always enjoy decorating our home for the holidays, even some of the less traditional ones like St. Patrick's Day. It helps our home feel festive year round! For St. Patrick's Day I filled the wall above our fireplace mantel with green paper fans and DIY shamrock wreaths. I added a wood sign and a set of "lucky" frames along the base of the mantel for some easy DIY art. Read on for simple ideas to incorporate into your own home or party decor this St. Patrick's Day!
Happy St. Patrick's Day Sign
Wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day with this simple sign made from a wood slat sign, letter stencils, and shamrock stickers. A couple golden horseshoes make it extra lucky! If you don't plan to do a lot of decorating for St. Patrick's Day, this sign may be all you need, and something you can reuse each year. Find the tutorial here.
Shamrock Wreaths and Paper Fan Backdrop
Why make one wreath when you can make three? I used a pack of three wooden craft rings to make these modern shamrock wreaths. Find the tutorial here. I surrounded my wreaths with green chevron paper fans and green tissue fans, some with a horseshoe glued to the middle, to make a big statement over our fireplace mantel.
"Lucky" Frames
To make a super simple decoration for the top of the mantel, I cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit these square wood frames, and added a white letter sticker in the middle to spell "lucky". So easy!
Shamrock Garland
I always love to finish off my mantel decor by running a pretty garland along the base. This felt shamrock garland is so pretty!
Green Beer Tray
You don't have to stop at the mantel! I created a green and gold washi tape serving tray to keep on our coffee table. The perfect size for serving up some green beer on St. Patrick's Day! Find the tutorial here. I'm hoping this mantel brings some extra luck our way this St. Patrick's Day!
