When a bride is having a difficult time deciding on a theme or palette for their wedding, we often ask them to go back to something in their life that inspires them. Whether it be place that is dear to them, song lyrics that hold a special place in their heart or, in the case of this wedding inspiration, a favorite artist or piece of artwork. This wedding is inspired by the paintings of Claude Monet. His paintings embody a sense of romanticism that naturally lends them to inspire one of the most special days in a couple's life. With a palette of misty blues and greens, romantic, floral details and pieces of decor that pay homage to the artist himself, this ethereal wedding tablescape will leave you breathless.
We wanted to create our own variation of Monet's Water Lilies throughout our table decor and did so by filling glass floating candle bowls with gold painted stone gravel, white floating candles and sprigs of faux lavender stems and fresh Alstroemeria blooms.
Three of these arrangements ran the length of our table while round votive holders held sprigs of lilac and hydrangea berry spray interspersed throughout. We finished the look by intertwining a silver dollar eucalyptus garland among the flower-filled glassware.
Each place setting was composed of a premium white with gold ornate dinner plate, light blue dinner napkin, greenery dinner plate, topped with a white with gold ornate dessert plate. Layering the two designs allowed us to combine a sense of elegance along with a more natural, ethereal quality.
Our DIY Favor Boxes sat a top a greenery beverage napkin at each place setting and added a lovely touch of Monet-inspired painting to the table.
We used various hues of acrylic paint and different sized paintbrushes on the pink tissue flower favor boxes to achieve the luminous, water-like palette. Flecks of gold foil were added for a chic touch. You can find the full tutorial for our favor boxes here.
One of our favorite details of this weddings place settings where our DIY Paint brush Place Cards. We painted paintbrushes from the easel paint brush set in the same style as our favor boxes and then created place card tags using white cardstock with each guests' name and adorned them with gold foil and small sprigs of hydrangea berry.
They were the perfect way to pay tribute to the artist our wedding was inspired by. You can find a full tutorial here.
Each place setting was rounded out with premium gold cutlery and a gold scalloped champagne flute filled with our delicious Blueberry Pineapple Champagne Spritzer.
This fresh mix of blueberries, pineapple juice, mint leaves and champagne was not only tasty, but also added a lovely touch of purple to our table. You can find the recipe for this cocktail here.
More of our evening's choice cocktail was served in gold rimmed plastic wine glasses a top gold-painted silver tone scalloped square chargers on a secondary table along with a lovely cake topped with faux lilac and lavender stems.
The table was adorned with two medium-sized jars from the glass jar set filled with more gold-painted stone gravel and water which allowed blush pink peony blooms to float.
Both tables sat in front of a backdrop that was simply created by hanging white fadeless bulletin board paper across the wall and then painted in the same style and colors as our favor boxes and paint brushes. We love the impact this added to our tablescape and feel it truly rounded out the space!
