Double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn, and cauldron bubble. Make way for a bewitching Halloween front porch packed full of details that will cast a spell on everyone who ventures near!
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year, and I especially love decorating my front porch for this haunted holiday. Each year I like to choose a new theme, like my Haunted Mansion or Dead and Breakfast Inn. This year, I decided to channel my inner witch and create a porch full of hocus pocus and DIY witch decor.
After all, everything is better with a little magic! With all the witch decor, it was easy to create a spellbinding look for All Hallow's Eve.
I'm not a huge fan of super creepy or scary decorations, so I used a mix of whimsical details like these DIY Hanging Witch Hat Luminaires and incorporated a few spooky decorations like the Animated Spell Speaking Witch to create the perfect bewitching decor.
When it comes to decorating my Halloween front porch I like to create an entire scene that greets guests and is a feast for the eyes at every step along the way. I started by creating a gathering of witches in the yard with a bubbling cauldron full of creepy-crawly things. This trio of Glowing Face Witches is such a spooktacular yard decoration. At night, they light up and give off a slightly eerie glow, pair this with a steady stream of fog and you are sure to delight trick-or-treaters walking by.
This trio was busy mixing up potions and spells at the DIY Bubbling Witches Cauldron, this prop is a fun and easy way to add a surprise element to your Halloween decor.
As the popular saying goes "When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam, may luck be yours on Halloween" it was only natural the next thing that greets our guest is a with pumpkins and Silhouette Cat Yard Signs.
Witches and black cats are long-standing symbols of Halloween, so I made sure to incorporate them throughout our decor along with some hay bales and foam pumpkins.
As guests approach the front door they'll find a creepy witch ready to cast her spells on all who dare to come close. This animated witch is one of my favorite parts about this year's Halloween decor. She has a motion sensor so as trick-or-treaters come up to grab candy for her cauldron they will be surprised with her high-pitched cackle and illuminated spell-book. Use a fog machine to make the ultra spooky effect.
Speaking of candy, this year I plan to provide a contactless option and filled a large cauldron with Hershey's Chocolate Full-Size Candy Bars. After all, if you are going to have the best porch decorations on the block you might as well hand out the best candy on the block too!
I created a simple vignette with more hay bales, faux pumpkins, crows, and a few new DIY signs. I transformed my DIY Dead and Breakfast Inn sign to the Old Salem Black Hat Inn to fit with this year's theme. This sign beckons guests to come on in and stay for a spell.
If witches are going to stay at your Black Hat Inn you'll want to be sure to include a place for them to park their brooms! I made this Broom Parking Sign with the DIY Slat Sign and added hooks to hang brooms from. Be sure to download the Free Witches Brook Parking Sign Printable here!
One of the easiest elements of this bewitching front porch is the DIY Witches Hat Luminaries that float along the front porch. These glowing hats hang from the ceiling and flicker in the night sky. It is such a cool effect and adds lots of detail to this stunning Halloween Porch.
I've always believed it's the little details that make things extraordinary which is why you'll continue to find spooky elements throughout the entire area that surprise and spook. From the hanging bats to the book of magic there are lots of details to catch your eye and surprise you.
You can see why Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate and decorate for. There are so many little details and lots of spooky surprises at every turn! I can't wait to cast a spell and conjure up some magic this Halloween!
