Celebrate Halloween with this fun kid friendly Snack Bar Trunk-or-Treat! Not only is this a fun way to celebrate Halloween it's perfect for church carnivals and harvest festivals!
Are you planning a neighborhood or church Trunk-or-Treat celebration? Trunk-or-Treats are a great way to gather everyone around to decorate their vehicles for the kids to enjoy. It's a great alternative to traditional Trick-or-Treating. It's no secret that Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I especially like it when we can celebrate with non scary themes for the little ones. I love non-traditional themes for Trunk-or-Treats like this festive Snack Bar display featuring the Movie Party collection.
The Decorations
I started the decorating by lining the trunk area of my SUV with Red & White Striped Plastic Tablecloth. No one wants to see the boring back of a car! I added the fun Snack Bar Cardboard Standup to take center stage. I wanted to make sure to attract lots of Trick-or-Treaters so I created a large balloon and paper lantern garland to hang on side of the car. To balance the scene, I added the large 3D Popcorn Cardboard Standup, it's so cute with the yellow and white "popcorn" balloons!
For the treats, I set up a table with a red and white striped table runner and filled the Half-Gallon Cylinder Jar with Lid with Charms® Mini Pops and Blue Salt Water Taffy Candy. I hung Carnival Cotton Candy in front of the table with some clothespins and baker's twine.
The 3D Popcorn Cardboard Standup may be my favorite detail, it's so festive! I made a coordinating DIY Popcorn Banner from Popcorn Bags to hang in the trunk area.
Of course, we had to have popcorn! I set up our Retro Popcorn Machine and plenty of Popcorn Bags for the kiddos. I also set out the cotton candy sign from the Concessions Sign set.
With potential social distancing measures in place with your trunk or treat this year, there are lots of ways to make trunk or treat fun and safe for everyone! Build stanchions to keep distance between cars and encourage social distancing. To make your own stanchions, fill galvanized pails with gravel. Place a garden stake in each pail and then slide a black craft noodle over each one. Finish your stanchions by pushing a foam pumpkin over the top of each garden stake. You can now tie plastic streamers from one stanchion to another to create dividers to use between cars or to mark social distancing areas. In addition, volunteers who are handing out candy can use grabbers to avoid picking up the candy and also wear Halloween themed face masks to help keep everyone safe. Remember to have some hand sanitizer available so it's easy for everyone to keep their hands clean.
I hope this Snack Bar Themed Trunk or Treat inspires you to create a fun family friendly display this Halloween. Be sure to check out the coordinating tutorial for the DIY Popcorn Banner!
