Are you ready to make your NCAA March Madness party a slam dunk? In our house we have a passion for basketball and love March Madness season. It's the time of year where basketball becomes life with brackets, parties and lots of yummy food! We have several families that get together to watch the games and join in on all the fun. If your home is the place to go to watch basketball on repeat, compete to win! It'll be nothing but net with these fabulous party ideas.
Start by styling a fabulous VIP viewing area. Pull extra chairs and side tables into your room. I used a combination of bean bag chairs and over turned milk crates so that everything was close to the ground.

Add School Spirit Black Foam Hands so guests can have fun with ribbing rivals. I also provided a couple of Mini Basketballs for some half time hoops! Set up a basketball hoop in the room where guests will be watching the game.

Guests can use the crates to hold their Spalding® Beverage Napkins, Basketball Disposable Cups and snacks.

Create a fun bar to serve drinks from. You'll love this DIY Basketball Hoop Bar! Learn how to create this one-of-a-kind Food Bar HERE.
There's plenty of room underneath the hoop bar or snack table to add a cooler for cold drink storage. In addition to serving beer for the adults, add soda, juice, bottled water and you can even throw in sports drinks like Gatorade to create a game-time atmosphere.

Add spare Basketball Disposable Cups, beer growlers and School Spirit Black Foam Hands to finish off the table.

Team Spirit Black Mini Foam Fingers can also be used as fun bar decor. I used them as accents on Black Metallic Stripe Beverage Napkins. The thin foil stripe of the napkins is a modern nod to referee shirts.

Make sure food is easily accessible during the game with a buffet table and a mixture of easy-to-carry snacks.

Set the scene with a DIY March Madness Brackets Backdrop over the buffet. Find out how to make it this unique party backdrop HERE. It can even be updated with results as the tournament progresses!
Have guests fill out their own bracket picks before they arrive at the party. This way you can kick off the fun with a basketball pool. Each guest can guess both the winner of the game and the score for each team.

Serve up snacks on fun basketball themed serving dishes and snack boxes. My favorite is the Referee Shirt-Shaped Tray!

Create your own themed serveware. Get the instructions and supply list for this DIY Scoreboard Serving Tray HERE. Bonus points for predicting the score of the final game!

Food labels are another easy way to incorporate a basketball theme. Add basketball plays to Black Chalkboard Table Frames and Chalkboard Sets in addition to the food.

On the buffet table add Spalding® Basketball Paper Dessert Plates for guests to grab and go. Basketball Popcorn Boxes & Basketball Snack Bowls can be filled with a variety of yummy game time snacks.

Great creative and use Basketball Whistles as napkin rings on Black & White Striped Luncheon Napkins.

Rather than florals, add Basketball Bouncy Balls and Realistic Basketball Stress Balls to Clear Hurricane Vases for a themed arrangement. I cut up a Ball Carry Net and slipped it over the vase to make the vase look like a carry net full of balls.

Finally, for the ultimate party pictures, create a college team backdrop using NCAA paper plates. This cost effective backdrop has a huge WOW factor. Attach an alternating pattern of team plates to the wall using Mavalus® Tape. I used Alabama, Nebraska, Ohio, Syracuse, Texas, Florida State, Florida Gators, Michigan, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Wisconsin dinner plates.
To create a backdrop that accurately depicts the current NCAA tournament, pick your plates from your favorites once the 64 tournament teams have qualified.

Take photos pointing out winners.

Decorate Plastic DIY Megaphones with stickers or spray paint them with chalk paint and add your team or battle cry with chalk markers.

Use the megaphones for fun pictures shouting for the winning team or heckling the opposition.

Now you are all set... there's a game on! No one will want to miss a moment of the high-energy basketball action, so turn the TV to the game, get the lighting right and get ready to root for your team!
