School is in full swing! And we are loving our new centers. One of our favorites is the Sensory Table. There are so many things that you can put in sensory tubs. These sensory tubs can create great learning experiences for children and gives them the opportunity for hands-on learning.
The first thing we did was submerge all the Water Beads in water and let them "plump" overnight. They looked so weird! But I knew that they were still growing. Once they were about the size of a marble, I added the Linking Letters to the tub. I have the Uppercase letters, but you can add the Lowercase Linking Letters to the mix as well. Since this is just an exploratory tub, and we don't have a lot of different options of things to do, we are just exploring out letters. The kids start digging in the beads until they find a letter. Then they look for as many of those letters as possible. They sort the letters, one by one. They then link them all together, based on each letter. Once they have sorted and linked, then they start practicing to trace the letter on the Giant Dry Erase Traceable Letters. The good thing about these cards is they are a thick laminate. So if they get a little wet from the Water Beads they will be okay! They won't be ruined!
My kids beg to go to the Sensory Table. There are so many options of things that you can put in it. I hope that this one is an easy one to start with!
