Rubber Duck Themed Baby Shower

Rubber Duck Themed Baby Shower

Rub a dub dub, there's a new baby to love! I grew up singing the Rubber Ducky song and loved the classic toy so much I was inspired to create an adora-bubble baby shower with the sunshiney yellow fellow in mind. He's just so cheerful, what's not to love?! From the charming DIY centerpiece, to the "bubble" filled backdrop and everything in between, we're sure you'll be inspired to host your own Rubber Duck Themed Baby Shower too!

I can't think of a more cheerful way to celebrate a mama-to-be than with a shower designed around a bright, yellow ducky! There's just something so joyful and light-hearted about the little fella that makes me happy. And it's hard not to be in a good mood, even on the gloomiest of days, when your space is decorated in shades of sunny yellow and bright blue.

We set the mood for the baby shower with a darling backdrop covered in balloon "bubbles". The adora-bubble garland was easily crafted by stringing together white, clear, yellow and blue polka dot balloons with baker's twine. We love how they accented the free printable rubber duck poster.

Isn't he just the happiest little guy?! You can download the free printable rubber duck baby shower poster here. We had it printed at our local print shop and simply hung it on the wall using Fabulous Foam Double Sided Tape.

Speaking of happy little guys, the front of our dessert table received a dose of delight thanks to the sweet swimming duckies garland we crafted from Gigantic Fantastic Felt Sheets. You can find the tutorial for the Rubber Duck Baby Shower Backdrop, including the steps to create the garland, here.

The cheerful decor continued with a cluster of balloon bubbles under the dessert table as well as to the side. We topped our garland with a lovable Rubber Ducky Mylar Balloon.

We hosted a crafty group of guests, so instead of baby shower games, a DIY Rubber Duck Decorating Station was set up for guests! A Clear Acrylic Sign was transformed with a bit of paint and yellow adhesive vinyl into a darling message and sat next to a white pail filled with Sharpie® markers and paint pens. DIY Rubber Duckies rested nearby in a nest of yellow Easter paper grass waiting to be personalized.

An Adora-bubble Tablescape

We continued the bubble motif on our dining table and were pretty smitten with how it all came together.

A length of light blue gossamer made for the perfect table runner, especially with the addition of some bubble details. A pouncer sponge from the Dr. Seuss Paintbrush Set was used to effortlessly create the bubbles with varying shades of white and blue paint.

The most charming Rubber Duck Baby Shower Centerpiece of all sat in the center of our table and was a joyful sight to behold! The white candle holder provided an ample amount of height to make him the highlight of the table. Varying sizes of foam balls and pom poms gave the illusion of the duck floating in the bubbliest of baths!

Yellow Rubber Duckies floated blissfully at each end of the dining table in a bubble bath created by filling Floating Candle Bowls with DIY Small Foam Balls and 1.5" Foam Balls, which were painted in shades of blue.
