Western themed parties are a huge trend in party planning right now and I for one love how a western theme can be used for not only a kid’s party but looks amazing styled as an adult western bridal shower or baby shower too! Here I’m going to share with you some ideas for a “Roundup” Western Baby Shower featuring a Mocktail Bar! Mocktails? Yes! It’s so fun to come up with non-alcoholic versions of traditional cocktails. It seems more and more guests are looking for non-alcoholic drink options and this is especially true for baby showers where the mom-to-be can enjoy a grown-up non-alcoholic version of her favorite cocktail. When planning a baby shower, I always focus on a wow-factor table and this Sweet & Salty Mocktail Snack Bar perfectly sets the tone for a “Roundup” Western-Themed Baby Shower!
Set The Scene! The backdrop, table linen and centerpiece are the foundation for any themed party table. Here I used this Fadeless® Weathered Wood Paper Roll for the backdrop that sets the tone for a western-themed party! In addition, I used my denim table linen that I have in my inventory and added a DIY Glitz and Gold Steer Head Table Garland that really added a dramatic element to the front of the table. The centerpiece...WOW! I asked one of my favorite vendors, Ten23 Designs to custom cut from wood a layered sign that I designed. I spray painted the back circle and WANTED words metallic gold and left the outer ring and star unfinished. I also had a Steer Head Decoration leftover from making the table garland so I glued one to the center of the sign and added some Clear Round Adhesive Jewels for a touch of sparkle. To finish off the centerpiece I added two of the denim favor bags to bring in a pop of color.
Serve Yummy "Baby Bellini" Mocktails For parties, I love to have a signature drink for guests to enjoy. For this theme, I chose to make "Baby Bellinis"! I also think it's fun to set up a self-serve drink bar so guests can make their own drinks. Here guests can choose to make a strawberry, peach, blueberry or raspberry bellini at the Mocktail Bar. Place the fruit purees in glass juice carafes and lemon-lime soda in a Beverage Dispenser. Add some fun and dress up the carafes by tying metal gold and silver Star Charms around them with Gold Baker's Twine. And—don't forget the glasses— using Clear Cording, tie a star charm to the stems of Gold Stem Champagne Glasses to bring in the western theme. I also offered root beer floats served in cute Cowboy Boot Mugs!
Serve Sweet & Salty Snacks! I don't know about you, but when I was pregnant I craved sweet and salty foods. I love to include both on my snack bars...especially for baby showers. This Roundup Western Snack Bar Tray is perfect to hold up to 5 snacks. I used it to hold all of my salty snacks like popcorn, chips and pretzels. Be sure to place these Gold Candy Scoops in the popcorn bowls to make it easy for guests to help themselves. I also served sweet snacks like these custom designed baby shower cookies made by the amazing Auntie Bea's Bakery!
Party Tip: I had a few of these wooden charger plates in my inventory and wanted to use them since the wood grain matched the table perfectly. But they weren't food-safe. To fix this I placed a food-safe Clear Scallop Tray on top of the charger and was able to still get the wooden look that I wanted while displaying the cookies.
Send Guests Home with Western-Themed Party Favors! In keeping with the shower theme, send guests home with a western-themed iced cookie and Navy Bandana. Put these favors inside this cute denim favor bag embellished with a Deputy Sheriff Badge.
