There's just something about a vintage bicycle that evokes a sense of romance that is hard to deny. And for those cycling loving couples, it makes for a unique and beautiful wedding theme. Paired with a palette of mint, pinks and gold along with rustically chic DIY and a delicious aperitif, there's no denying this Romantic Bicycle Inspired Wedding will have you yearning for a bicycle built for two right down the aisle..
The Table Decor:
We set our dining table with a White Tablecloth and used a sheer piece of mint fabric as a table runner to add a vibrant, pop of color.
We painted a DIY Unfinished Wood Crate with acrylic White Paint and used it as the base of our centerpiece. A large, ivory Lace Planter was filled with fresh peonies and a Gold Adventure Begins Acrylic Cake Topper.
The Topper added the perfect touch of gold elegance to the rustic centerpiece.
We flanked the centerpiece with two DIY Unfinished Mini Wood Crates that we also painted White, topped with smaller ivory Lace Planters filled with pink hydrangea and gold-painted miniature bicycles from the Valentine Bicycle Exchange set. We love that quick coat of gold paint can really transform anything! We also added in Color Coordinating Paper Hearts on wooden skewers into the arrangements for a romantic touch.
Frosted Wedding Votive Holders with White Rose Votive Candles and Personalized Adventure Wedding Votive Holder stickers were interspersed throughout the table decor as well. We propped miniature Bicycle Charms against the votives for a charming touch.
The Place Setting:
Each place setting was made up of a Ornate Gold Trim Dinner Plate and Ornate Gold Trim Dessert Plate. We love the way the spiral detailing on each of these plates resembles the design of a bicycle wheel!
We topped the plates with a custom created menu, printed on Cream Cardstock, detailing the evening's food choices.
Our Bicycle Built For Two Cocktail was served in gorgeous, Gold Scalloped Champagne Flutes. This mix of pear juice, white cranberry juice and Prosecco creates a delightfully refreshing aperitif perfect for the evening's festivities.
The Champagne Flutes were placed on Adventure Begins Personalized Pink Beverage Napkins and were accompanied by Gold Metallic Cutlery.
Personalized With Love Treat Bags were placed on the other side of the place setting and detailed with more of those cute-as-can be Bicycle Charms.
The Bacdkrop Vignette:
To set the tone of our wedding we wanted to create a stylized backdrop vignette that would instantly showcase our event theme. We came across a vintage bicycle planter and instantly fell in love!
We added Bamboo Bushel Baskets to the planters and filled them with gorgeous, fresh flowers.
The vignette was also home to our DIY Bicycle Wheel Seating Chart. DIY Slat Signs were painted and glued together to form the backdrop for the wheel while a ring from the Obstacle Course Ring Set was painted gold and used as the shape of the wheel. Add in some Faux Floral Greenery and fresh flowers and you'll have a stunning piece of decor. Make sure to check out our full tutorial for the step-by-step directions!
A directional wedding sign similar to this Rustic Wedding Directional Yard Sign was staked into the ground and surrounded by flower-filled Crates and cute Color Coordinating Paper Hearts on wooden skewers.
