Christmas is coming, Santa is loading his sleigh, and the reindeer want you to come out and play. When it comes to holiday parties I like to keep things festive, but simple. The last thing you need to add to your already very long to-do list is more work.
Start by setting up a small dessert station. I covered a table with a white tablecloth and then added the candy cane striped plastic tablecloth. Not only does this make cleanup easier, but it also makes the table feel extra festive.
I like to keep the treats simple and provide a few fun themed treats. I made reindeer brownies and a reindeer munch popcorn that I put in DIY reindeer popcorn boxes. I used the mini kraft popcorn boxes, googly eyes, pom-pom noses, and paper antlers to create these fun little treat boxes.
I dressed up a store-bought cake with paper antlers and a red gumball nose. I also added a simple hot cocoa station where kids could add their favorite toppings to a warm cup of cocoa, but by far the crowd favorite were the peppermint candy cane spoons.
To fill in the rest of the table I added a small metal chest with toys, games and photo props that the kids could use to keep themselves entertained.
I always like to have a designated spot for the kids sit down and eat. Not only does it help make the party feel cohesive, but it also helps make sure the mess is contained to one area. I mimicked the same look and feel of the dessert table with the candy cane striped tablecloth. I created a simple centerpiece with a DIY ornament balloon garland. I used layered brown and red paper plates paired with paper antlers for each place setting.
I love the holidays, especially when I get to see it through the wonder and excitement of my kids. This party is full of lots of activities that will keep your crew entertained, including games like antler toss, Roll a Reindeer and a reindeer ornament keepsake craft. To keep with our reindeer games theme I made DIY Reindeer Trophies to give out to the winners of each game. Of course, unlike the other reindeer, we made sure everyone was included and got to join in the fun!
Before everyone headed home I made sure to send them with a big bag of the reindeer munch popcorn. I love these cute Christmas bag toppers and they were the perfect size for this scrumptious treat. The kids also made sure to grab an oh so cute reindeer candy cane!
