But before you start your search, think about what type of ring you might want so you can narrow your focus when you start trying them on:

  • Are you picturing a simple band or one that’s more elaborate? Many brides will pair a simple wedding band with an elaborate engagement ring, or choose a more intricate wedding ring to go with a simple engagement ring.
  • Are there times you might wear your wedding ring without your engagement ring? If so, you’ll want to find a band that looks nice on its own.
  • Does your engagement ring have a matching band? Some ring designers make bands that contour the engagement rings for a perfect fit. However, if you won’t always wear both rings, it may not be the best choice.
  • What type of metal do you prefer? Remember, your engagement ring and wedding ring don’t necessarily have to be forged from the same type of metal. It’s entirely up to you! Organize a Pinterest board to help you figure out what style you like the most, but always remember, the ring in the photo may look different on your own hand.
