Fall is my favorite season! I love teaching science in the fall. We teach about apples, pumpkins, spiders, and bats! One of our favorite activities in the fall is going to our local pumpkin patch. When we come back, we make a bulletin board with homemade pumpkins.
The first thing we do, is put on Colorful Kids' Aprons and give the kiddos a brown paper sack, Crayola® Orange Washable Paint, Jumbo Chubby Brushes, and Small Paint Cups. I know, that sounds like a disaster! But with the Small Paint Cups it makes the mess minimal!
We put the brown paper sack directly on the table, the kiddos paint one side. Then we let them dry. When they are dry, we stuff them with newspapers, recycled paper, or plastic grocery sacks.
Once the pumpkins are done, we put the bulletin board up. I started with Fadeless® Clouds & Sky Art Paper, I put it up on my whole bulletin board. Then I took the Fadeless® Art Paper Roll- Brown, and made a wave and put it on the bottom half of the bulletin board. Then on the top half I added Orange Dots on Chalkboard Bulletin Board Border to just make a definition around the edge.
Then I added accents from the Fall Harvest Bulletin Board Set to set the scene of a pumpkin patch. I love the little scarecrow on top of the hill! I added "Pre-K Patch" to the top using the letters from the bulletin board set.
We got lots of compliments on our bulletin board, and the kids had a blast finding their pumpkin from the patch!
