Problem Solving Bulletin Board

Problem Solving Bulletin Board

This year, our school is focusing on helping our students become problem solvers. One way that we talked about helping them was to create a visual display in our rooms so they could easily be reminded of ways to solve problems. Then I was flipping through the Oriental Trading catalog I saw the Jumbo What Can I Do Mini Bulletin Board Set and inspiration hit!

Problem.Solving.Bulletin.Board2When I got the Jumbo What Can I Do Mini Bulletin Board Set in the mail, I went and started getting items together for the bulletin board. I have a big tub full of supplies to make my bulletin board! I started pulling out these essential bulletin board making items: Mavalus® Multi-Purpose Adhesive Tape and Glue Dots® XL. Where have these guys been my whole teaching career?! Every new teacher needs these in their desk!Problem.Solving.Bulletin.Board3 After stapling down the Fadeless® Art Black Paper Roll, I decided on adding a White Dots on Chalkboard Bulletin Board Border and White Scalloped Bulletin Board Border. When I am creating bulletin boards, I like to layer my borders to make them stand out. With using a black paper on the background, I thought that the white would really pop!Problem.Solving.Bulletin.Board4In the top corners I added a variety of Lanterns and Fans. If you are ever in need of a lantern or fan, Oriental Trading is the place to look! They have them in every color imaginable! I love to add fans, poms and lanterns to my bulletin boards to give them a 3D effect. Although I put different colors on either side of the bulletin board, I made sure to balance them out on both sides. I loved how this bulletin board turned out but the best part of it is the vocabulary the kids have picked up! When I hear a disagreement, they are using these Problem-Solving skills, and that makes this not just a pretty bulletin board, but a useful one as well!
