Presidents' Day in the Classroom

Presidents' Day in the Classroom

Typically, I use the month of February to focus on learning about the USA. It’s the perfect time because we get to celebrate Presidents’ Day. In Kindergarten, I mostly focus on Washington, Lincoln, and whoever our current president is. In elementary school each student chooses a president to research.

presidents day in the classroom I am a huge fan of the President Learning Charts because the students can pick a poster and read a couple of interesting facts about each president. They also make an adorable bulletin board! presidents day in the classroom I asked my students to use the Internet and our library to read about a president of their choice. They were also able to use the Presidents' Day Activity Book to find information about the USA. The activity book was used mostly for them to complete once they were done with their research. The most popular part of the book seemed to be the word search and drawing activity. presidents day in the classroom presidents day in the classroom My students used the Presidents' Day Photo Stick Props to take a picture in front of the Patriotic Backdrop. They each took a picture with whichever president they were researching. They really got a kick out of taking pictures of each other and I had them each tell me a couple of facts they learned about their president after their picture was taken. presidents day in the classroom Happy Presidents' Day!
