Anytime is a great time to practice making patterns! Patterns are all around us and are easy to create using some simple materials. Gather these supplies and you’ll be ready to make patterns and practice some addition as well!
These glittery pattern crowns are a cinch to make and help your children or students practice patterning! All you need is some sentence strips or long strips of paper and the Glitter Foam Geometric Self-Adhesive Shapes. Have your children or students pick a pattern they would like to create, lay their pattern out on their paper strip, peel off the paper backing and stick the shapes on! Staple the ends together to create your super sparkly, pattern crown!
Take your patterning to a whole new level with some bling and fun shapes! Use the Self-Adhesive Foil Mosaic Squares, Pastel Self-Adhesive Jewel Assortment, and the Mini Eraser Assortment to create some fun and exciting patterns! Challenge students to use 2, 3, or even 4 different shapes or colors to make their patterns!
When your students are ready for more of a math challenge, set up this great independent station to help them make combinations to ten. They can even use patterns! Create the ten frame image using the Ten Frame Stamp and the Cool Classic Giant Color Stamp Pad Set. Use the Self-Adhesive Foil Mosaic Squares, the Mini Eraser Assortment, and the Pastel Self-Adhesive Jewel Assortment to practice making ten. This would also be a great small group math activity! You can ask your students how many more to make ten and then have them write the equation below to show their thinking.
