Pokemon is BACK! It never really went anywhere, but with the new Pokemon Go! craze, it has gained popularity in a BIG WAY and has become a hot new trend in party themes. Today I’m going to share with you lots of Pokemon party ideas to help you host a fun and fabulous Pokemon party.
The Candy Table: Candy tables are a staple at all of my parties. They are always the wow-factor of any party that both kids and adults love. Taking my design cues from the Pikachu & Friends Luncheon Napkins, I decided to decorate the party with Pikachu as the main character and a yellow, turquoise and red color palette. I started with a sky backdrop made by rolling out the Fadeless® Design Clouds & Sky Art Paper Roll behind the display table. Next, I made Pokeball Ornaments and hung them on a tabletop tree with lots of plush Pokemon keychains. TIP: The plush Pokemon keychains already had a hook on them which them super easy to hang on the tree.
I filled the table with color-coordinated yellow, blue and red candy. Lollipop holders helped display Yellow Swirl Pops and Yellow Mini Twisty Pops. This Glass Jar Set were the perfect size to hold one pack of Yellow Striped Hard Candy Balls and Red Gumballs. Be sure to have treat boxes and favor bags on the table to take home Pokemon party favors like Pikachu & Friends Pencils and Pikachu & Friends Bracelets. To keep your table budget-friendly, fill up the table with party favors and desserts. Don't forget the Pikachu & Friends Dessert Plates and Pikachu & Friends Beverage Napkins so guests can help themselves to the cupcakes.
As each guest arrives, have them pick up a Pokemon Hat and Backpack so they can transform into official Pokemon Trainers.
The Dining Table: Instead of using the Pikachu & Friends Dinner Plates, I decided to make my own Pokeball Plates which added a hand-made custom touch to the dining table. They complimented nicely with the Pikachu & Friends Luncheon Napkins and Pikachu & Friends Cups. As an easy centerpiece idea, place a jumbo mylar balloon in the middle of the table and you're done! It doesn't get any easier than that! Be sure to serve a yummy signature drink like these Pokemon "RazzBerry" Smoothies which my daughter came up. She was inspired by the Razz Berries that Pokemon trainers feed their Pokemon. Thanks Faith! TIP: The Pokemon Backpacks can also double as chair backers! Simply slip the backpack strings over the back of the chair and you've dressed up your chairs to match the party!
The Games: Inspired by the Pokemon Go! craze, I decided to do a Pokemon Scavenger Hunt where our Pokemon trainer guests will find actual Pokemon hidden all around the house. While your guests are enjoying lunch at the dining table, remove all the plush Pokemon from the tree and hide them all around your party space. When lunch is over, have your Pokemon trainers go find them. These make great take-home favors for everyone.
You could also place these DIY Pokemon Photo Stick Props on a table for guests to have fun taking their own photos. See how to make these Pikachu Photo Stick Props HERE. Oriental Trading also has Pikachu & Friends Disc Shooters that are sure to keep kids entertained!
