Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than with a “We Go Together like PB & J” Valentine’s Day Party? Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays for parties, but with my youngest son’s birthday so close to the holiday, we often celebrate early. My three sons and I are very close, ever since each of them were little they were always called my “Peanut”. When I saw the adorable We Go Together Valentines, I knew I had to create a PB & J party for my boys and I to celebrate the bond between mother and son for Valentine’s Day! With lots of DIY and a bit of creativity, we were all set for our party!
Party Decorations: I wanted to coordinate with the Valentine cards as much as possible, so I decided to use the little PB & Js as inspiration throughout the decor. I chose purple, brown, white and red as my colors. I started with a purple tulle backdrop and two Red Heart Mylar Balloons.
Aren't these little faces adorable? I wanted something for the center, so I cut by hand two large pieces of bread from cardboard. I cut peanut butter and jelly from scrapbook paper and added the little faces with a black marker.
Next, I created an adorable PB & J Tassel Garland (you can see my tutorial HERE) I hung it in front of my party table along with several Purple Polka Dot Hanging Paper Lanterns.
Party Favors: Every party needs a few party favors! I created PB & J Favor Tags, and added them to Kraft Paper Scalloped Edge Favor Boxes with Natural Jute Cording.
And since you can't have a PB & J without a little milk, I made Mini Milk Carton Party Favor Boxes which I filled with Purple Candy Hearts and Red Sour Gummy Hearts.
Party Food: I set out a cake and added Purple Candy Hearts and a cake topper that I made with pieces of the Valentine We Go Together Like Ornament Craft Kit, Purple Polka Dot Paper Straws and Natural Jute Cording.
We served milk in Mason Jars with Purple Polka Dot Paper Straws and embellished with Natural Jute Cording.
I filled Valentine Heart Snack Cups with donuts and Large Purple Gumballs.
I also whipped up a batch of my boy's favorite, PB & J Milkshakes. I also made extra PB & Js for coasters. Aren't they cute?!
And last but certainly not least, I made my boys heart shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (See the tutorial on my blog HERE.) I displayed them on the DIY Lunch Box Tin which I covered in clear contact paper and added purple tape to the handle to coordinate with the decor.
I had so much fun creating this party for my boys, I hope you are inspired to create your very own "We Go Together Like PB & J" Valentine's Day Party!
