Simple Paper Plate Food Craft Ideas

Simple Paper Plate Food Craft Ideas

My kids are consistently playing "restaurant" on the weekends when we are hanging out in our backyard at our picnic table. Most of the time I am served up leaves and mud pie! I loved it when Ella and Annie crafted these paper plate food items for imaginative play. A little less messy with the help of white paper plates, acrylic paint, glue sticks and colorful construction paper. With a little imagination, the kids whipped up for delicious treats; donuts, pizza, chocolate chip cookies and tacos!

Never under estimate how delicious taco Tuesday can be! Don't miss out on how Ella and Annie created these adorable Paper Plate Tacos with white paper plates, acrylic paint, glue sticks, tissue paper squares and construction paper. Start by painting the bottom part of the white paper plate brown. You can mix the brown and white acrylic paint for a lighter tan color. Once the paper plate has dried, fold it in half and use a couple glue dots to hold it together. Next, crinkle the green tissue paper squares and glue between the folded paper plate to make the lettuce for the taco. Then cut small strips of yellow construction paper for the cheese and glue on the inside of the taco. Using a circle punch, punch out small red circles for the tomatoes. Finally, add a dab of glue to the red circle and place in the taco. Let your kiddos serve you up these deliciously delectable imaginative tacos on Tuesday night. Who knows, tacos just might be what you're having for dinner!

Pizza seems to be every kids' favorite food, don't you think? My kids ask for pizza at least 2-3 times a week! Have your kiddos craft this pretend Paper Plate Pizza with the help of white paper plates, acrylic paint, multi-colored construction paper, glue sticks and scissors. Start by combining brown and white acrylic paint to make tan. Paint the outer rim of the white paper plate with the tan paint mixture. Paint the inner part of the paper plate with red paint, slightly overlapping the tan paint. After the paint has dried, use a glue stick to attach small yellow strips of construction paper for the cheese. Next, cut additional small strips of green construction paper for the bell peppers and glue onto the pizza. With a small circle hole punch, punch various sized circles for the pepperoni and olive pieces. Spread the circles over the pizza and use a glue stick to attach. Add any additional toppings to your delicious paper plate pizza. For example, cut mushrooms from white construction paper. Your kids will love serving this up to family and friends. Ella and Annie love serving up a slice of their favorite pizza pie!

We have the best donut shop in town, if I do say so myself. Ella and Annie were inspired to create these gorgeous sprinkled donuts with white paper plates, acrylic paint and colorful construction paper. Start by cutting out the center of a white paper plate. Mix brown, white and a drop of orange paint together. Paint the outer rim of the paper plate with your tan paint mixture. With pink paint, paint the inner part of the circle, overlapping slightly on the tan paint. While wet, sprinkle glitter over the paint. Let the paint dry. Next, cut tiny strips of colorful construction paper. Glue the tiny strips of multi-colored paper to the donut. Finally, scatter the tiny paper strips to resemble sprinkles and attach with a glue stick. We are definitely fans of sweet treats in our house, especially on the weekend. I'm sure you are too!

The smell of sweet chocolate chip cookies baking fresh from the oven is undoubtedly one of the best smells. Let your kiddos create some memories with our Paper Plate Cookie Craft and pursue their baking dreams! Ella and Annie crafted these paper plate chocolate chip cookies with the help of white paper plates, acrylic paint, and dip and dotter paint sponges. Start by mixing brown paint and white acrylic paint to make a tan paint mixture. Paint the back of the paper plate with the tan paint. Using the small dip and dotter circle, sponge paint the chocolate chips with brown paint over the cookie. Allow the chocolate chip cookies to dry. Don't these paper plate cookies almost look so good you could actually eat them?
