Set the scene for an owl-themed gender reveal party theme with a fabulous dessert table. The backdrop to the table lets your guests know right away what your gender reveal party theme is. It's fun to use a letter board as part of your party table backdrop because it's so versatile. You can spell out any number of phrases or sentences to personalize your party space. It may just be one of my new favorite things!
Once you have the dessert table backdrop assembled, it's now time for my favorite parts – adding decorative accents! Mix modern elements like white ceramic owls and vases with natural decor pieces like wood birch pillars, greenery, succulents and pinecones to decorate the table in shades of tan, white and green. The overall look is soft, chic and modern. I love how you can use other colors in gender reveal parties besides the traditional blue and pink.
When adding desserts, be sure to stick with the color palette and serve color-coordinated desserts on trays and bowls that match. Serve white iced cupcakes on a white cake stand and white chocolate covered OREO cookies on wood patterned chargers topped with clear plastic plates. TIP: Adding the clear plastic plates makes the chargers food safe. Use clear plastic or glass bowls to hold silver and gold wrapped candy so that the shimmery gold and silver show through the bowl.
The Tablescape
Invite your guests to sit down at this gorgeous owl-themed tablescape. Keep the anticipation of the gender reveal until after dinner, so the conversation can be about what everyone thinks the gender of the baby is.
Instead of a traditional centerpiece, create a stunning table runner down the table with decorative vases and owls perched on birch pillars and boxwood balls on top of candle holders. Add in moss rocks, wood base glass terrariums filled with pinecones, boxwood balls, grass balls and a variety of white ceramic vases.
Get creative and use natural elements like pinecones on top of wood-trim ceramic vases instead of flowers.
The Place Setting
Designing a fabulous place setting is all about layers!
