Out of this World Space Playdate

Out of this World Space Playdate

The great thing about playdates is that they can be planned year-round! My son and his friends gathered together recently for an Out of this World Space Playdate. My little guy loves science. So, when I saw the adorable space themed products I knew he’d have a blast (no pun intended) with a space themed playdate!

Decorations:

I love themed get-togethers. So, naturally I wanted to create a themed area for the kids to play. I started by hanging up a solar system space canopy tent and created a little lounging area with several reading pillows.

I hung up a large sun and all the planets overhead using the inflatable solar system set.

Activities:

Since you can’t have a playdate without a few activities, I set up a table for the kids to make crafts. The outer space photo props were the perfect centerpiece, not to mention a lot of fun for the kids!

I constructed a DIY rocket jet pack for each child. These were super fun to make, read my full tutorial for all the details.

The kids loved them! They played “Astronauts” for over an hour! 3…2…1…Blast Off!

I set up a DIY rocket ship for the kids to color with markers, this kept them busy for a while!

No astronaut is complete without space shuttle foam glidersspace squirt guns and alien test tubes of slime!

The kids created their own sand art rockets with our free space coloring sheet.

Snacks:

Every playdate needs snack time, so I made a batch of galaxy cupcakes. Check out the full recipe.

And that’s it, our little Out of this World Space Playdate was a great success!
