Place Settings

I wanted each place setting to look elegant and glamorous, so I used lovely gold chargers as the base. Their pretty color really popped when placed on the black tablecloth.

Two black napkins were placed underneath towards the top and bottom of each white and gold dinner plate.

To add even more elegance to the table, I made a simple bow tie out of a black napkin and placed it underneath each plate. A thin gold glitter strip of paper glued over the middle helped keep the bow together.

Gold utensils matched the rest of the table perfectly, as did the gold rimmed glasses filled with a sparkling lemon Italian soda and fresh raspberries for an added pop of color and flavor.

Warm candle light from inside the gold glitter candle holders really added to the ambiance and created a lovely atmosphere. Two gorgeous vases with gold trim held pretty white flowers down the middle of the table.

Party Backdrop

I wanted our Oscars party dessert table to really steal the show, so I hung shimmery gold sequin fabric behind the table. Classic red velvet material made the perfect curtains! Curtains were hung in the middle, then draped to each side and held in place with sequin ties.

A movie-themed sign announces the Oscars party in pretty gold glitter letters. I wanted to be able to use the sign again for a movie night, so I cut out the letters from gold glitter card stock so they could easily be removed after the party.

Dessert Table

A tall gold cake made the perfect centerpiece for our Oscars-themed dessert table. The cake was stacked on a large metal film reel I had to tie into the movie theme, then that was placed on a tall white and gold cake plate.

The cake was centered over a shimmery gold sequin table runner that matched the party backdrop and all the gold sparkles at the party.

Two large gold Oscars statues were the perfect addition to our dessert table. I love how the film reels they are holding match the film reel underneath the cake!

Flavorful lemon mousse was served in the sweetest mini clear cups with mini spoons inside each one. To add a little pizzazz to the cups, I painted some gold glitter shimmer onto the bottom of each cup with some gold glitter paint. Learn how to make this delicious and simple lemon mousse here!

Clapboard Favor Boxes filled with gold foil-wrapped Oscars candy were the perfect take-home treat for party guests. Two groups of favor boxes were stacked onto two white serving trays. Popped popcorn made the perfect filler for adding to the empty spaces on the trays and fit the Oscars party theme perfectly!

I just couldn't leave out the popcorn, so I filled some black popcorn boxes with popcorn for guests to shack on during the awards show. I embellished each box with a gold glitter Oscars statue that I cut out and glued to each box. Grab the free printable Oscars Statue Template so you can make them yourself! I love how they mirror the gold Oscars statues on the table.

Clear cones were filled with caramel-filled chocolate balls wrapped in gold foil and Oscars-themed chocolates. A clear acrylic treat stand came with holes that were the perfect holders for the chocolate-filled cones!

You don't have to plan many activities for an Oscars night party, since the whole purpose is to watch the Oscars together. You can make the awards show even more fun though by playing this entertaining Oscars Bingo Game with a free printable!
