Creating a beautiful space to host friends and family for Thanksgiving is one of my favorite fall traditions. While I love the warm, natural tones that are often used in traditional fall decorating, I also like to add in a little unexpected color. This Thanksgiving tablescape incorporates amethyst and purple, muted orange, magenta and ivory for a unique and decadent look that's quite inviting. Personal charcuterie boxes, custom fall cookies, an apple cider station, and personalized wine bottles are unique holiday decorating details that your guests will appreciate.
When creating this Thanksgiving dinner set-up, I wanted to include a variety of fall colors, including a generous dose of purple. The combination of muted orange, copper and this amethyst shade makes for a gorgeous fall table design. A bit of ivory and glints of copper and gold help to add interest against the muted tones. I also used lush, full roses in a rich shade of fuchsia as an accent, as well as trails of curling eucalyptus greenery.
The rustic wood trestle table was set with a long purple table scarf that was gathered to create volume down the center of the table. Next, white pumpkins and gold candelabras were added.
Gold votive holders were used as short vases, and held delicate arrangements of fuchsia roses and wine red dahlias. Others house battery operated votive candles. A mirrored square cube vase held the larger center arrangement, and was tied with purple wired ribbon.
Nestled into the fall tablescape were more flowers, branches of fall leaves, and modern paper fans with gilded edges. Just a few of these paper party accents adds such a pretty touch and effortlessly carries this color drenched table.
My new obsession is the lavender taper candles that were used against this fall tablescape.
Special attention was given to every detail of the place settings. For a small Thanksgiving gathering, I love to incorporate lots of details into each setting, and this Thanksgiving was no exception. I skipped a table linen for this design and chose to let the natural wood of the table show through. I really enjoyed the contrast that was created between the tabletop and these paper placemats. I dressed them up just a little by adding a bit of fall leaves washi tape to the top and bottom of each one. Ornate gold rimmed plates were centered, and topped with a linen napkin. A special welcome treat was also included in a Thanksgiving themed takeaway box. Gold flatware was bundled and tied with purple ribbon. There was just a touch more of this gorgeous fall color found in the crystal patterned wine and champagne glasses.
Surprise! These Thanksgiving food boxes have been repurposed as delectable personal charcuterie boxes filled to the brim crackers, cheeses, delicious cured meats and nuts. This is a perfect idea to incorporate into your socially distanced holiday plan. Best of all, these personal charcuterie boxes can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated for up to two days. Tie them closed with jute twine and attach a chalkboard label, accented with a small acorn accent. These small touches resonate warmly with guests, and are another layer of detail that you can add to your Thanksgiving table. Keep fingertips tidy by providing lots of small fall themed napkins like fall leaves with foil accents, or ivory napkins that read, "gather together".
Another elegant touch of personalization for your Thanksgiving celebration is to offer personal wine bottles at each place setting. These personalized wine labels are stunning and can be customized with your own text and a one letter monogram!
Fall cookies by Roni's Sugar Creations were served on ornate gold rimmed dessert plates. These artisan cookies are hand painted in fall shades, and flecked with gold metallic; they're almost too pretty to eat!
Thanksgiving placemats were printed in brush script and read, "we're thankful you're here". These are the perfect alternative to table linens, and are generously sized, which makes clean up a breeze.
Positioned behind the main dining table was an extra fun party accent; a cookie and apple cider station! I decorated a gold hoop with a fall letter banner reading, "Give Thanks", and embellished it with greenery, fall leaves and ribbon. I chose to center this decor piece above my table and it created a lovely focal point for the entire gathering.
More pretty fall leaf cookies were displayed on a rectangular tray while fresh pumpkin and vanilla macarons were displayed on various pedestals to give the table some added visual interest. A higher tray held ready-to-take servings of freshly poured crisp apple cider in crystal clear cups with gold rims. This is another way to limit close interactions, and keep social distancing in mind during your Thanksgiving meal.
Making a fun new decoration is another of my favorite fall traditions. Each year I like to do something fun with a pumpkin. This year, I created a cute DIY Pumpkin Terrarium and used it as a unique table accent. It's also a perfect gift for the hostess if you're not hosting the Thanksgiving meal. Be sure to include some metallic elements into your tablescape to bring an extra touch of glam to your tablescape. I love the way the copper mercury glass pumpkin catches the light on this table!
I hope you've enjoyed this color soaked Thanksgiving table and found some inspiration of you own along the way!
