I wanted to drop by and tell you about something I do during Back to School time! Something my kids love and my parents appreciate! We do open house the night before school starts. The parents bring in their children’s school supplies and fill out their paperwork. It is a crazy night to say the least. I recently added an aspect to Open House that makes the process a little less stressful and a little more fun.
Open house is an overwhelming night at our school. There are shy kids and there are kiddos bouncing off the wall. Some know each other and some are complete strangers. So I think a little gift from their new Teacher is a great way to break the ice! 
A little thing of bubbles and a note telling them I am bubbling with excitement to meet them! What kiddo doesn't like bubbles?! You will be hard pressed to find one. I also include a book. I always get them on sale for about $1. I love the book "The Night before Preschool/Kindergarten/1st Grade" It is something great for the parents to do with them before they go to sleep the night before. Click “download template” button under the materials list to get the free bubbles printable. I also print off a business card on cardstock with my Name, the schools phone number and my email. Then I back it with magnetic paper so they can put it on the refrigerator so they always know how to get ahold of me. 
Then I also add a letter to the kids and parents! It gives them a little background knowledge on me, and some of my favorite things. Maybe knowing what my favorite sport team will give us something in common. 
I also give them a pencil for home and a magnet to put on their fridge to hold all their amazing work they do throughout the year. 
Not pictured is a bag of popcorn they get at the door, and a folder full of paperwork that the parents have to fill out that night. The most important being how their child goes home the next day and allergy information. That is all I have for today! I hope you guys have a great back to school season!
