Christmas is here and it's time to prepare for your upcoming parties! Whether you are throwing a holiday party, preparing for your child's class celebration or hosting a neighborhood get together, this Nordic Gingerbread Theme is a perfect way to celebrate!
Let's Decorate! Before I decorate for any party, I like to choose a color scheme to work around. For this Nordic Gingerbread Party I decided on traditional red, green and brown, but spiced things up by adding teal and lime green accents. I based the colors off of the adorable Nordic Christmas Collection by Oriental Trading. Once I ordered my party decorations, I began with a white table. I ran a piece of Kraft Butcher Paper down the center of the table to serve as the table runner and used lime green 12X12 pieces of cardstock for placemats. I love paper products for kids parties and celebrations because 1. they are disposable and it doesn't matter if they get destroyed or dirty and 2. you can include a bunch of crayons to the table and the kids can draw and color during the party!
The table centerpiece is my favorite! I placed two sets (six trees in total) of Nordic Noel Cone-Shaped Trees down the table runner and made Gingerbread Cones to tie the Nordic and Gingerbread theme together! I intertwined a Holiday Handicraft Pom Pom Garland between the cones to add some texture and bring a little more brown to the table.
For the table place settings, I stacked White Round Dinner Plates, Red Gingham Napkins, Plastic Dinner Plates on the cardstock placemats and topped them with a Fun Christmas Favor Box Assortment full of goodies.
I used Clear Glass Milk Bottles with a Lid as the beverage cups. I placed double-sided tape on the back of Nordic Noel Ornaments and stuck them to the Milk Bottles and placed a red and white straw in the glasses.
Next to each plate, I placed Candy Cane Heart Suckers for each guest to enjoy! I added a pom pom and twine to each sucker so that they could serve as either a party favor or party treat.
Next to my table, I set up a candy station for guest to fill up their favor boxes and to gather candy for the gingerbread houses. I wanted to decorate the candy station and made a Candy Cane Wreath to add some holiday flair to the space. I love how the wreath turned out and decided to place it on my font door after the party!
The candy station was easy to set up! I used candy that matched my table and placed them in Glass Cylinder Jars with Lids. I also added a Nordic Noel Snowflake Garland to help coordinate the main table and the dessert station.
