Get ready to celebrate all things red, white and blue during the month of July with a festive nautical patriotic Fourth of July table! Create a painted table runner, a fun firework centerpiece, painted 4th of July sailboat flags and the most simple plastic plate craft you could imagine. Whether you are hosting a big party with friends and family or just spending time in the backyard, this party has great ideas for everyone.
As summer gets closer, it is always fun to start planning your big get togethers and put them on the calendar! One of my favorite parties to plan is a yearly Fourth of July hangout and there is no better celebration than a red, white and blue nautical patriotic Fourth of July party! I love creating special and memorable moments for my parties, so let's dive into some of the fun.
I started planning this party based on the traditional red, white and blue color palette, and added small pops of aqua. My first spot to introduce aqua into this tablescape was with a simple clear plastic plate upgrade. I added a few small dabs of hot glue onto the underside of a plastic plate to hold these metallic silver stars in place. Then, in a well ventilated spot outdoors, I lightly sprayed aqua colored spray paint on the underside. This simple technique keeps your food safe and still provides a lovely pop of color!
Can we talk about the darling Life Preserver Glasses set at each table place? I love those small little details that really make a party pop. And they would be such fun for a photo booth selfie moment.
In another place, I incorporated my non-traditional color was with these fun Turquoise Ribbon Wands. I set them in a glass jar so they could act as decor, but would also be easy to access for children and adults, alike.
Another fun element to this nautical party, are the sailboats! These DIY Wood Sailboat Kits are a blast to make. You can paint simple American flags on them like I did, or add another 4th of July decorative element like fireworks or even the words USA. Since they come in a package of 12, they could be a great craft for the kiddos to work on during the party.
I love the pattern the American flag sailboats bring to the table area!
Every good party needs flowers, they don't have to be large, a few small flower arrangements work well. However, sometimes real flowers can break the bank, so my tip is to do a few small grocery store arrangements of happy red flowers and then craft your others. For my party, I spray painted inexpensive silk flowers and pots in a solid dark navy blue. I love the dramatic look they bring to the table.
To make a perfect party backdrop, be sure to include a combination of Patriotic Hanging Fans and a Coastal Seaside Wooden Pennant Banner because the more the merrier in my opinion! To keep the nautical theme flowing through your party use a blue fish net as a tablecloth.
The final element for this 4th of July party is the kraft paper roll table runner. I painted acrylic blue dashes across it for a modern take on water.
I hope these fun Nautical July 4th table ideas have you ready to get your guest list in order and your sparklers in hand!
