There's just something about the feel of being out to sea on a sail boat. The wind in my hair, and the ocean stretched out before me seems like a dream come true.
If I can't live there, then I can bring it into my home easily with this beautiful and breathtaking Nautical Mantel.
This mantel is chock-full of fun nautical decor ideas that won't break the bank, but will have your friends and family asking, "Where did you get that?" When you tell them you made it, you'll be beaming with pride.
Let's take a peek at all the goodness that makes up this Nautical Mantel. We'll start with the hearth of the fireplace.
We love the way the hearth of the Nautical Mantel turned out! Fun textures and shapes, but also cozy.
An easy way to bring the sea inside, is to add some sea shells. We filled these silver lanterns to the top to show off the fun colors and shapes of each sea shell.
Placing the silver lanterns filled with sea shells, next to the DIY Burlap Anchor Pillow and red and white painted Chevron Tray, brings added interest to the hearth with bright colors.
It's fun to add height to home decor and we were able to get that look with these DIY Wood Paddles. We used painters tape to add lines and then painted the paddles to match our other mantle DIY's.
We placed an Americana Throw Blanket in the bag to give a little softness to the wood paddles.
We place the painted DIY Wood Paddles, inside this fun Two-Tone Burlap Tote Bag. We added in some fun detail to the bag with navy paint and natural cording. Then we made a fun tassel with some jute cording and red, white and blue yarn pom-poms.
The bright colors of red, white, and blue from this DIY Nautical Starfish Garland really pop against the white mantel. The starfish really kick up the nautical feel when paired with the natural cording and felt balls.
Now to the mantel decor. We had a lot of fun making all the DIY's for our Nautical Mantel.
We started off with Mason Jars wrapped in layers of natural burlap, navy burlap, and navy stripped ribbon. We wanted to add more color so we used some yarn pom poms, and painted wood beads with some jute tassels to complete the jars.
Placing them on white candlesticks is a great way to add some height to our mantel.

The easiest way to make the DIY Nautical Wreath Sign is by using this fun Framed Stained Wood Plank Sign.
The large Galvanized Metal Blessed Cutout was another fun element that added a subtle touch. We glued it to a wood shim to keep it standing up.
