DIY papier-maché crafts like this American flag and Uncle Sam hat are easy additions to your star-spangled décor. Simply paint and embellish with the accents of your choosing to create a look that’s true blue and uniquely your own.

Add some bang to your 4th of July decorations with a DIY bundle of firecrackers! This patriotic decoration is super easy to make. Simply cut pool noodles into lengths of 12” or less. You’ll need at least three sections to create a bundle.
Cut patriotic patterned paper to fit around each section of pool noodle and secure with hot glue. Paint the ends of the pool noodles to coordinate with the patterned paper. Natural cording works nicely to make firecracker wicks. Tie a knot in one end and be sure to cut a long tail on the other end. Glue the long end into the hole in the middle of the pool noodle. Finish your bundle by gluing each firework together and then wrap the entire bundle with patterned paper and jute.
It's so perfect (and convenient) when you can use a craft kit as part of your décor, and this Patriotic Paper Fan Wreath Craft Kit is a clear winner! Hang it on your wall or from a chalkboard for a simple dash of Americana charm.
Another simple idea for your 4th of July décor? A star-spangled garland! This garland craft kit is easy ans adorable – and makes you look like a DIY superstar in no time at all.
Of course, If you’d like to make your own garland (or layer 2 garlands!), a beaded garland is a fun pick.
Start by painting Round Unfinished Wood Beads, but to make it easier, use some hot glue to very lightly secure them to a bamboo skewer. Let the beads dry and then gently remove them from the skewer.
Use a large-eyed needle to thread the beads onto twine, alternating with Patriotic Star Beads, painted wood beads, wool pom poms, wool hearts and blue yarn pom poms in a pattern of your choosing. Continue until your garland is the desired length and then tie each end of the twine into loops so it’s easy to hang.
You’ll never go wrong decorating with flags! This rustic charmer is perfect for any patriotic display, and it takes just minutes to make (plus a little drying time). To make your own, paint a blue rectangle on the upper left corner of a hanging canvas sign.
Once the paint is dry, hot glue alternating rows of red and white pom-pom trim to create stripes. Finish by gluing a glitter star to the center of the blue rectangle. Boom! Your flag is ready and it’s so cute, you may want to make a few to gift.
