Who says Halloween has to be spooky, dark and creepy? In fact, if you're celebrating a mummy-to-be in October, then throwing her the most frightfully adorable Halloween baby shower is definitely in order! Lovely shades of blush pink, coral and grey are perfect when mixed with darling mummy details sprinkled here and there. This baby shower will have all your guests squealing with delight instead of terror.
I'm a sucker for puns, and couldn't resist the play on words of mummy for mommy! There surely isn't a more fitting theme for a Halloween baby shower. Guests were stunned the moment they walked into the room by the sight of our dreamy "deconstructed mummy" decor. The brilliant gold balloons really made a statement and popped against the bright white wall. Coral polka dots, cut from cardstock, were adhered to the balloons to give them extra character.
Decor Fit for a Sweet Mummy-to-Be
Light pink, orange and grey crepe paper streamers were hung in a criss-cross fashion across the wall behind our balloons to mimic the wrapping of a mummy coming undone. They were a breeze to hang using just a few GlueDots® here and there. The "got it from my" phrase was traced and cut out of grey cardstock. It was the perfect, cheeky addition to the mummy balloons.
Our deconstructed mummy decor was carried over to the dining table in the form of placemats at each setting. You can see how we transformed the DIY slat signs into DIY Placemats here.
Our tablescape was lined with a lovely runner of silver dollar eucalyptus and various pumpkins, both real and ceramic. A beautiful gold three arm candelabra held coral and blush candles and sat in the center of our table.
We varied the height and colors of the pumpkins on our table for more visual interest. A DIY ceramic pumpkin was painted blush pink and received a sprinkling of gold splatter paint. We then adorned the top of the pumpkin with floral greenery and faux eucalyptus.
Another DIY ceramic pumpkin was painted coral and received a smattering of delicate light pink and white hydrangea blooms across the front.
Medium and small decorative pumpkins were painted a charcoal grey, then wrapped with light pink streamers to resemble mummies.
Small blush vases, filled with blush floral bouquets, and gold glitter pumpkin votives were tucked in between our pumpkins for a well-balanced look.

Place Settings All Wrapped Up With Cuteness
The mummy-to-be was absolutely smitten with the color palette we chose. The pops of gold here and there really made the table come to life and added a touch of glam.
The gorgeous colors really made a statement paired with the wood tone of our light stained dining table.
I love using decorated placemats to provide added visual interest to a table. We painted DIY slat signs to resemble "deconstructed mummies." You can find the steps to create your own DIY Placemats here.
To round out the look of each place setting, we layered blush polka dot dessert plates atop coral scalloped edge dinner plates. Grey paint dipped gold party porcelain forks rested upon blush polka dot napkins to the left of our plates. A chic gold foil paper cup sat to the right of our plates and housed a pink polka dot paper straw, ready to be filled with party punch.
The most delightful pretty in pink mummy place cards were created by wrapping chocolate bars with light pink streamers. We then added sleepy eyelashes, cut from charcoal grey vinyl, and a mini white flower crown. The mummies were then tied up with gold baker's twine and held pretty floral tags with each guest's name written on them. You can download the free printable Got It From My Mummy Gift Tags here.
Mummified Sweet Treats
Our dessert table was decked out with whimsical mummy details. Blush and coral candles tucked into a gold spray-painted candle holder set and a taper candle holder set flanked each end of our table and provided visual height and dimension. A coral painted DIY ceramic pumpkin sat on the left side of the table next to the candles.
Our pretty, pink mummy cake rested atop a gorgeous modern gold cake stand in the center of our table, and was flanked by two pink cut glass dishes, which held coral chocolate candies, along with strawberry and orange macarons. A white ceramic vase was painted a shade of blush pink and held a bouquet of striking peonies and roses on the right side of the dessert table.
Hanging in front of our dessert table from gold baker's twine was hands down the most adorably delightful DIY Mummy Garland. Guests could not get over their whimsical sleepy eyes or their bow and flower crown topped heads! You can find the steps to turn mini paper lanterns into your own DIY Mummy Garland here.
We wouldn't want guests to leave empty-handed, so we sent them home with the most darling chocolate candy filled favors around. We transformed baby bottle favor containers into Mummy Baby Bottle Party Favors! Their cuteness factor was kicked up a notch by placing them atop coral and grey painted DIY unfinished wood coffins.
