Teaching those multiplication skills can get so repetitive! It's time to move beyond those old flash cards and on to something new. It's time to add some fun into your normal math routines. Get your students excited about multiplication with some hands-on activities that everyone will love. Check out a few fun ideas and products that you can use to make your math time more engaging and fun for everyone!

Oversized dice for the win

These large fabric dice are the perfect way to practice those multiplication facts. Place all of your dice into a large bin and have a student draw one out. When they draw their die have them demonstrate how to skip count by that number. Another way you can try, is to call on two students to each draw a die out. The first one to multiply the two together wins the round. For a challenge have students try to build multiplication equations using the dice to form their number sentence. Your students will love these quick and easy games to practice their facts.

Introduce those tried and true multiplication strategies using the oversized Dry Erase Multiplication Math Sheets. Use the large dice to show two numbers, for example three and six. Students can use their oversized boards to view the multiplication equation in a variety of ways. Students can use the Counting Cubes Manipulatives to create an array and then use their dry erase marker to record it on their math sheet. They can easily show three groups of six in picture form, and use repeated addition to solve 3x6. What a great way to visualize all the ways to understand a multiplication problem.

Once your students get the hang of multiplication they can practice in pairs with their own set of 10-Sided dice. These fun 10 sided dice will have your students seeing multiples. Have students take turns rolling their die and multiplying the numbers. These cool 10 sided dice make practicing fun!

Math kits make learning a little more fun. Just use a cute Trendy Animal Pencil Cases to hold all of the essentials. I included a dry erase marker, a dry erase board eraser, 10 sided dice and counting cubes in ours. These come in handy for a quick practice or to use during math time to understand the problems being taught. For easy access your students can keep their multiplication math kit hanging on a hook on the side of their desk.
